Irvine-based EV manufacturer Rivian announced that its vehicles are now compatible with the Tesla Supercharger network, providing Rivian owners with access to more than 15,000 fast chargers across North America. This addition to Rivian’s charging ecosystem aims to alleviate range anxiety for drivers and offer a seamless charging experience.

Rivian’s charging ecosystem allows drivers to smoothly transition between the company’s mobile app and in-vehicle infotainment system. This software and hardware integration enables Rivian owners to plan trips, filter chargers, set route preferences, navigate and add stops without any inconvenience, according to a Rivian blog post. Compatible Superchargers will be displayed in Rivian’s navigation system, providing charger speeds and availability information.

Rivian owners will receive North American charging standard adapters in April to enable connection to Tesla’s Superchargers. Additionally, Rivian vehicles will ship with fully integrated NACS hardware starting in 2025.

To further support the growing adoption of electric vehicles, Rivian is building out the Rivian Adventure Network, its own network of fast chargers across the US. Currently, over 424 Rivian Adventure Network chargers are live at 70 sites across 22 states. Later this year, Rivian plans to open the network to all EV drivers and expand its rollout to include more charging sites in additional markets.
