Nuclear microreactor developer Radiant has raised $300 million in new financing to accelerate commercialization of its technology. The round was led by Draper Associates and Boost VC, with participation from existing investors.

According to a company announcement, the funding comes just six months after Radiant’s Series C raise and will support construction of the company’s R-50 microreactor factory in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, where ground is expected to be broken in 2026.

CEO Doug Bernauer said the capital will enable Radiant to both build the manufacturing facility and stay on track with its schedule for achieving a self-sustaining nuclear chain reaction using a reactor built by the company.

Radiant’s transportable microreactors are designed to deliver continuous, reliable power for applications such as defense operations, disaster response and critical infrastructure, especially in locations where conventional energy systems are unreliable or unavailable.
