Santa Barbara-based QAD Inc. has announced plans to acquire Kavida Technologies, an agentic AI company that builds automation tools for industrial businesses. The move is aimed at accelerating automation across manufacturing operations by removing time-consuming manual tasks in post-order management and supplier collaboration.

In a Tuesday news release, QAD announced that its Champion AI platform will be strengthened by Kavida’s procurement agents, enabling live, high-value use cases in sourcing and ERP automation and faster access to measurable productivity for manufacturers.

“By integrating Kavida.ai’s technology and team, we’re helping our customers unlock value faster — automating critical workflows, improving supply-chain reliability and giving every buyer, planner and supplier a powerful digital co-pilot. This isn’t about adding another AI feature, it’s about redefining how manufacturing work gets done,” Sanjay Brahmawar, CEO of QAD, explained in a statement.

Following the acquisition, Kavida.ai’s agents will be immediately available to customers using QAD | Redzone, the company’s connected workforce platform. Kavida.ai’s founders will also join QAD | Redzone in senior leadership roles.
