Belkin releases combo travel battery and charger

Belkin, the Playa Vista-based consumer electronics company, announed their newest product this week, the Travel Rockstar Battery Pack + Charger + Surge. The device includes a surge protector, two AC outlets, and a USB charging port. The new device features a 3000 mAh battery pack and costs $59.99. Innovate Pasedena brings on first full-time employee

Innovate Pasadena, a non-profit promoting the technology industry in Pasadena, said Monday that it has hired on its first, full-time employee. Celina Guerrero will now serve as Director of Marketing and Operations. Guerrero has more than 20 years of experience in sales, marketing, and event production, and is a Pasadena native. Midroll Media unleashes Howl Premium

Midroll Media., a Hollywood digital media company, focused on podcast production announced their new Howl Premium service.  The new service will grant listeners exclusive access to a large library of outstanding audio content, including the entire Earwolf, Wolfpop, and WTF with Marc Maron episode archives, all available ad-free and on-demand. Midroll Media was recently named #150 in the 2015 Inc.'s list of America’s fastest-growing private companies.

Ring grabs $28M in Series B

Ring, the Santa Monica video doorbell company, announced a $28 million Series B on Wednesday, bringing their funding total to $38.2 million since the company’s inception in 2011. The round is Ring’s largest by far and was led by American Family Insurance, Shea Ventures, Richard Branson with participation from True Ventures and Upfront Ventures. GumGum hires new Senior VP of Sales

GumGum, the Santa Monica digital marketing platform for the visual web, announced that John Weisgerber has joined the company as Senior Vice President of Sales. Weisgerber has twenty five years of sales leadership experience, most recently at Hearst Corp., and joins GumGum with a track record of building profitable online businesses and driving revenue.
