New Year’s Eve is just around the corner, and people everywhere are busy creating goals and resolutions to work toward in 2023.
According to a recent Statista survey, the most common resolutions remain the same from previous years: exercise more, eat healthier, spend more time with family and friends, and reduce stress on the job. For jobseekers, it can be helpful to keep these resolutions in mind during their search.
Are you hoping to achieve a better work-life balance, for example? Then perhaps Epirus, which offers unlimited paid time off and flexible working hours, is worth noting.
“Work shouldn’t get in the way of life, and the team at Epirus recognizes this. If I need to leave work early and come online in the evening from home, that’s fine,” Rawan Halabi, senior project manager at Epirus, explained.
Are you trying to cut down on work-related stress? Credit Repair Cloud offers employees a robust wellness program, which includes daily yoga, free meditation and therapy, breathing sessions and more.
Resolutions are often thought of as goals that are mainly tackled alone, but some organizations offer benefits, perks and supportive team members who can help you achieve more — both professionally and personally.
Built In LA spoke to team members at Epirus, Credit Repair Cloud and four other companies hiring now to learn more about what makes their workplaces great.

Epirus is a high-growth technology company that develops solid-state, software-defined directed energy systems for defense and commercial applications.
What makes Epirus the best place to work?
Coming from a company in New York, joining Epirus was a complete culture shock — in the best way possible. The company has found a sweet spot of balancing productivity while also making work fun. It doesn’t have to be a trade-off. In the two years I’ve been here, we’ve more than doubled in headcount, but that feeling of collegiality has not faded. It’s clear that our team loves coming into the office and are passionate about the work they are doing. When I wake up in the morning, I’m excited to come to work – and I don’t get the ‘Sunday blues.’ I like to say, I leave home to come home.
How would you describe your company culture in a single word, and why would you choose that word?
Epirus is such a unique workplace that I can’t describe it just in one word. I can only describe it as a feeling — a feeling of inclusion and being valued. Here, everyone has a voice, no matter your position, team or title. And not only do you have a voice, but more importantly, you’re heard.
Culture is built from the ground up at Epirus, meaning we all have an active say in what our company is and aspires to be. It’s not something dictated from the top, nor something that is set in stone. Culture is ever-evolving, and I love that I can play an active part in shaping it.
There’s a culture of trust that allows us to get our work done in the manner that’s best for us.”
Please list five of your favorite — or some of the most unique — perks your company offers.
First and foremost: unlimited paid time off. Here’s the thing – many companies have unlimited vacation, but it’s a catch in that you feel so guilty that you never actually take time off. At Epirus, I love that managers pay attention to whether their team is taking time off and proactively encourage it if they’re not.
Secondly, flexible working hours. Work shouldn’t get in the way of life, and the team at Epirus recognizes this. If I need to leave work early and come online in the evening from home, that’s fine. There’s a culture of trust that allows us to get our work done in the manner that’s best for us.
Having an on-site gym has changed the game. I have weekly Peloton meet-ups with colleagues, pushing each other to beat our personal records. It’s a nice physical and mental break that I know I can use at any time of the day. We also have a premium subscription to the Calm app through Epirus. It’s a small thing, but it shows how valued our mental health is.
Lastly, what would be a list of perks without daily catered lunches? It’s one less thing I have to think about, allowing me instead to focus on catching up with coworkers.
AI company Beyond Limits blends high-level AI techniques with human-centric cognitive reasoning to help businesses optimize their workforces and overcome logistical challenges.
What makes Beyond Limits the best place to work?
Hands down, our people. We strive hard to ensure that we recruit the type of people that are not only some of the brightest minds but that are also going to support and help one another to figure things out. We rely on each other to deliver on our goals and objectives. No one operates in a silo. We all collaborate cross-functionally to create solutions that are greater than any one person can develop on their own. Our people exude these characteristics, and it is a principle that is embedded in our culture. More often than not, when people leave the company, they share that the hardest thing for them to leave behind is their team — and it’s something that we are very proud of.
How would you describe your company culture in a single word, and why would you choose that word?
Trust. Trust is a two-way confidence. It requires both sides to believe that one party has the best interest and intent for the other. Our company places high trust in our employees to perform and make decisions that are always in the best interest of the company. Likewise, our employees place high trust in the company to make decisions and create policies that have the best interest of our employees. This type of trust enables us to operate at the highest level of excellence and create an environment where we can all show up as we are and perform at our full potential.
If the company is successful, we want to share that success with everyone.”
What are five of your favorite — or some of the most unique — perks Beyond Limits offers?
1. Stock options. As an organization that has the goal to become a public company in the next couple of years, the potential benefit and value of stock options is incredible. Our leadership team believes that it’s important for everyone to reap the benefits of their hard work, and if the company is successful, we want to share that success — and those rewards — with everyone.
2. Time off. We recognize the importance of having balance, so we offer a very generous PTO package that includes vacation time, care time, floating holidays, and all federal holidays.
3. Holiday break. In addition to the already generous PTO package, we also close our offices from Christmas to New Year’s to give our employees some additional time to recharge and spend some quality time with their loved ones.
4. Hybrid work model and office environment. Our three-to-two hybrid model allows our employees to work remotely two days per week. We have two work schedules that support everyone to be in the office on Wednesday, which is used to host company events.
5. Global employee bonus program. Every employee is eligible to participate in our EBP and has a target percentage that’s tied to overall company performance.

FloQast offers an automated approach to accounting that helps streamline and make workflows more efficient, so accounting teams can focus on what matters most.
What makes FloQast the best place to work?
That’s a tricky question. Even for non-accountants, FloQast’s value proposition is so obvious that being involved at this stage is a tremendous opportunity. Having so many former accountants — including co-founders — involved makes our mission that much clearer. As a talent acquisition professional, it’s second nature to fall back on perks and benefits, but at FloQast, our benefits program speaks for itself.
How would you describe your company culture in a single word, and why would you choose that word?
Authentic. As a company built by accountants, for accountants — literally — we’ve experienced the problems we hope to solve firsthand. But that authenticity extends beyond just accounting experience. HR has developed a list of perks and benefits that genuinely support FloQasters. The transparency from leadership is on display at our monthly all-hands meetings, with no questions going unanswered. Lastly, the opportunity to grow within the organization isn’t just marketing fodder. Inter-departmental transfers are far from uncommon, and I’ve never been part of an organization that places such an emphasis on professional development.
In addition to company-sponsored family events, we also offer tremendous parental leave, flexible work schedules, family medical leave and family forming benefits.”
What are five of your favorite — or some of the most unique — perks FloQast offers?
1. Fantastic health benefits. FloQast pays for 100% of medical, dental, and vision for employees, spouses, and dependents.
2. Mental health days. For months without designated federal holidays, FloQast closes to allow team members to recharge, get away and focus on staying grounded.
3. Company virtual events. To date, FloQast has organized 100+ virtual events, ranging from wine and charcuterie tasting to knitting classes to family events like DIY refrigerator magnet-making sessions.
4. Employee resource groups. FloQast has five employee resource groups (so far!) where our employees can join and build a community with each other and share resources.
5. Child care and parental leave benefits. FloQast offers employees plenty of benefits for families. In addition to company-sponsored family events, we also offer tremendous parental leave, flexible work schedules, family medical leave and family forming benefits such as adoption assistance, generous parental leave and an adoption assistance program.
Medely, the largest labor marketplace for short- and long-term healthcare jobs, helps professionals instantly connect with high-quality healthcare jobs.
What makes Medely the best place to work?
The people. We pride ourselves on hiring high-quality people. This creates an atmosphere of trust. There is no micromanaging here. We all rely on each other, and each person’s input is welcomed regardless of title. We believe that everyone can learn from everyone. This atmosphere of trust and respect fosters creativity and unity. I have seen this in my own experience here at Medely. On my own team, I enjoy pairing on projects and joking around with each member. They are all great people that I am happy to work with.
How would you describe your company culture in a single word, and why would you choose that word?
Collaborative. Our engineering manager often says, “We are not a remote team. We are an in-person team that happens to work remotely.” This may seem like a small distinction, but it has a big impact on our culture. I frequently get and send messages saying, “Do you have five minutes to hop on a call?” Just as if we were in an office and walking over to someone’s desk to ask a question. People here are always more than willing to help.
We just hired a new engineer, and within a week of her starting, she had been on a one-on-one call with each person on our team and a couple of people from other teams as well. Whenever she needed help, she would post on Slack, and several people would immediately volunteer to hop on a call.
This aspect of our culture is also really nice because it has created a social environment as well. I’m probably not the only person whose social life took a hit when everything went remote, but here at Medely, I don’t feel isolated. I even have a book club with my coworkers.
We pride ourselves on hiring high-quality people. This creates an atmosphere of trust.”
What are five of your favorite — or some of the most unique — perks Medely offers?
There are many great perks to working at Medely. I happen to thoroughly enjoy the more juvenile ones myself. One of my favorite perks was receiving a VR headset when I started working here, and every two weeks or so, we spend time on Friday playing VR games with everyone in our department. It is great fun and great for bonding. Nothing brings coworkers together like virtually shooting them with lasers.
In addition, Medely has excellent health and wellness benefits, PTO and a program where employees have access to great discounts at many retailers, restaurants, and recreational facilities nationwide. Also, did I mention there’s a great book club here too?

Artera is a digital SaaS digital health company that delivers a simple, cohesive communications experience to patients while reducing the workload for staff. The company’s platform can be integrated with existing tech stacks.
What makes Artera the best place to work?
Artera is a great place to work because our whole team exudes passion and focus for our shared mission — to make healthcare the no. 1 in customer service.
We work to accomplish this by building and empowering our product and engineering teams to be highly curious problem solvers. Companies typically refer to their product and engineering teams as research and development, but at Artera, we call it the Innovation Organization (iO).
Artera’s iO comprises everything from product and product marketing to engineering, DevOps and data. Our teams hear directly from our customers about what’s working well and where we need to improve to solve their problems. Based on this customer feedback, our teams work to offer and build real solutions. This approach fuels some of the best product companies in the world and builds teams that solve problems versus building a set of individual features. It also empowers our engineers to work in motivated, autonomous teams that are highly invested in solving large, multifaceted problems that are highly relevant in healthcare.
Our engineers and product teams are dedicated problem-solvers, not one-and-done solutioners, who can see and know exactly how their work ties back to our mission.
How would you describe your company culture in a single word, and why would you choose that word?
Passionate! Our employees, nicknamed the “Arterians,” are some of the most driven people I know. They come to work every day ready to solve some of healthcare’s most pressing problems — and have fun while doing it. Whether it’s a UX design enhancement to improve healthcare staff’s experience using our platform or code work to continue to evolve our product, the Arteraians show up to deliver a great experience to our customers and are driven by the burning need to change healthcare for all patients. I should also mention, one of our company’s core values is to “pursue with passion.” Years ago, our employees came together and co-created our five core values — “pursue with passion” was one of them — and I attest that it lives on every day at our company.
Artera creates mentorship across the organization, fostering meaningful connection amongst our employees.”
What are five of your favorite — or some of the most unique — perks Artera offers?
1. Learning and development stipend. I love that this can be used for a variety of growth opportunities, everything from online education to professional coaching.
2. Monthly iO lab. My colleague Ashu Agte, who runs engineering, and I host a monthly, company-wide “innovation organization” lab, where we cover recent launches and demo functionality, share what’s coming up and other important topics for the team using the time to educate and answer questions.
3. Commitment to mentorship. Artera creates mentorship across the organization, fostering meaningful connections amongst our employees, which is especially important given that hybrid work is here to stay.
4. The #CEC. We have what we call the “Connected Employee Committee” — an employee-led group created to organize activities and opportunities to build vital connections across teams and individuals.
5. Employee resource groups. Another way Arterians find community is through our nine unique, employee-led resource groups, which serve to empower voices, and champion inclusion and equity across the organization. As a mom of three, I am the executive sponsor for our parents’ ERG.
