If you are planning on attending SXSW, here's how you can meet up with others making the trek from LA: LA Tech Connect. Radix Collective and Digital LA are doing their part to represent LA during this national congregation of tech aficionados by hosting the event from noon to 6 p.m. on March 9 for a daylong celebration of LA tech. And if you’re looking for a way to connect with LA peers later that night, make sure to stop by Techweek’s party that goes till 2 a.m. on March 9.

This is the third year that Radix Collective and Digital LA have put together this event and represented LA down in Austin; last year, they took 20 LA companies on the road with them to demo at their “Sunday Funday” event. This year, the LA Tech Connect team is putting the emphasis on celebrating LA’s tech community with a day party style.

There will open bar all day, Stubb's BBQ cupcakes, coffee, O.N.E. Coconut water stations, margarita machines and tacos. Cornerstone OnDemand will be getting in the spirit by supplying massages, phone chargers and hangover kits while Cooley and Kluge Interactive will be both holding office hours and free advice for attendees. Did we mention that this event is free and open to the public? No badge required.

Companies exhibiting at the event include: PriceGrabber, Favado, MomentFeed, ZEFR, Savings.com and others. Companies like these and many more will be helping to highlight the diversity of LA’s tech scene, Nicole Jordan, CEO of Radix Collective, said.

“The tech community in Los Angeles is growing bigger and faster than ever before, fueled by over $1 billion of investment in 2013,” Jordan said in a press release. “As the LA community continues to grow, we need to also communicate with investors, entrepreneurs and media outside the area to spotlight the diversity of innovation throughout our great city. Los Angeles offers more than just Hollywood studios and media companies - we have a talented collection of companies focused on creating great technology across a range of industry focuses.”
