Four Fearless Female Founders - Smashing the Startup Scene

It is time for some women warriors to brave the entrepreneurial startup scene and here are 4 founders that I am betting on for success. Make sure to check out their sites/apps while they are all in Live Beta.

BELLINITY

Bellinity is networking site promoting mentorship between any individuals and seasoned professionals and enables fans/admirers/advice seekers to connect with influencers/celebrities in a safe environment as well as a searching tool for businesses or casting agents to easily search the verified influencer database. Influencers post an event outlining what would be covered in it and then open the event for fans/users to bid on.  The winning fan/user then will be connected to the influencer via a one on one live video session where they can interact and communicate privately. This is just the main feature of the site as there are other features as well.

About the Founder Chelsea Penner

Chelsea Penner is the founder of Bellinity, an acclaimed model, actress, & dating coach. In 2013 she used her industry expertise to develop Bellinity.com.  In 2007, as her modeling and acting career began taking off, Chelsea decided to move to LA from PDX. Anticipating exciting new opportunities in LA, she was disappointed to instead find financial exploitation, sexual harassment, and a lack of camaraderie/mentorship in the fashion & entertainment industries. Her personal experiences inspired her to create a company that would help aspiring artists achieve their dreams while also financially empowering industry professionals in a safe environment as well as a searching tool for businesses or casting agents to easily search the verified influencer database.

BETAGIG

Betagig is a groundbreaking online career development platform that allows users to "beta test" a career choice before deciding on a major and pursuing an educational path. The platform can be used by various ages and work backgrounds, but it is especially geared toward high school and college students. Users can download the software at www.betagig.techand set up job shadowing opportunities in diverse occupations by simply clicking on job positions available at companies that have partnered with Betagig. The clever software will be free to download and will only cost a fee if job shadowing is arranged.

Betagig was developed by software engineers Nicki Klein and Melissa Hargis who are both career changers. Before being software engineers, Klein worked in the stock market, and Hargis, was a Spanish professor.

The two female entrepreneurs won the prestigious 2016 Launch Festival Hackathon in San Francisco for the Betagig platform, and the win enabled them to walk away from the competition with $250,000 and numerous investor opportunities, which has given them the backing to make Betagig revolutionary. The win also allowed the founders to participate in the Launch Incubator that assisted in advancing Betagig's product development during a 12-week period and enabled them to pitch to additional renowned investors. The Launch Festival (www.launchfestival.com) is held in San Francisco and is known as "The world's largest start-up event" with about 15,000 entrepreneurs in attendance looking to build new companies.

About Co-Founder Nicki Klein

As a software engineer and the co-CEO of the groundbreaking company Betagig, Nicki Klein is helping to revolutionize the typical career development process. She is an agile and resourceful technical professional committed to contributing value and creativity in building web applications and websites. Nicki studied software engineering at Sabio in Los Angeles, and the rest is history.  Prior to being a software engineer and an entrepreneur, Nicki received her bachelor’s degree in linguistics and psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles and had a successful career in the stock market at J.P. Morgan.

About o-Founder Melissa Hargis

Melissa Hargis is a software engineer and is the co-CEO of the revolutionary career development company Betagig. She studied software engineering at Sabio in Los Angeles, and her coding prowess, ingenuity and work ethic have led her to a successful career in technology. Before being a software developer and entrepreneur, Melissa had a formidable career as a Spanish professor at California State University San Marcos. She studied at Purdue University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and literature and a master’s degree in foreign languages, literature and linguistics.

Both Nicki and Melissa in addition to Betagig, they are co-creators of the efficiency app called Chorbit that is changing how the world plans their day. The clever app makes running errands quicker and easier by selecting the best route.  Also both were inspired to pursue a STEM-related career so they could bring her new ideas to life and new innovations into the world, and they are doing just that.
