Famebit finds new star in Reframe acquisition

Santa Monica-based Famebit, the YouTube influencer marketplace, has acquired short form video marketing company Refame.

Refame specializes in short videos formatted for apps like Vine, Snapchat, and Instagram — a market that Famebit has had a longstanding interest in. The two declined to disclose the financial details of the transaction but say it was a natural connection for the two companies.

Famebit’s clients are able to select from the company’s well of YouTube influencers in order to find the correct marketing outlet. The Refame acquisition will now expand their options to include Vine, Snapchat, and Instagram stars.  

Refame has a reach of over 40 million people, according to the companies. Famebit says the acquisition helps expand its reach to more than 10,000 creators and 450 million subscribers.
