5 tech events you won't want to miss this week

Summer's over, school is back in session and football is back on the television, but that doesn't mean the awesome tech events we saw during the summer is coming to a close. Led by Tech Day on Thursday, this week is packed with chances to get out and mingle with some of LA tech's best and brightest.

HTC Vive focused Demo and Pitch Virtual Reality Arcade, Sept. 19 at 6 p.m.

Another in a series of events dedicated to allowing attendees a chance to try out AR and VR products, this meetup, sponsored by Futurites.com, will feature Marcus Anzengruber, senior advisor at HTC. It's a great chance to demo an intriguing product and hear about what companies plan on using it for.

GA DTLA Lunch Break: Using Improv to Succeed in Business, Sept. 20 at 11:30 a.m.

Are you worn down by small talk? It turns out, improvisational skills can help remedy that, as well as bringing a wealth of potential if used in business situations. Cross Campus DTLA will host the event, which promises to help entrepreneurs and startup teams find ways to increase confidence and networking skills.

LA Fintech Mix Mingle Network, Sept. 21 at 7 p.m.

If you're looking for a reason to attend a happy hour at a happening Santa Monica bar, you need not look further than this week's LA Fintech Mix Mingle Network event. Join other fintech professionals to discuss industry innovation, football and whatever you want to, while enjoying drinks on special by the water.

TechDay Los Angeles, Sept. 22 at 10 a.m.

It's finally here! TechDay Los Angeles will be held in DTLA all day, where over 250 startups will be on display. This year's event will feature live demos, as well as an area known only as "Accelerator Alley." 

Valley Hackathon II, Sept. 23 at 9 a.m.

The Valley Economic Alliance is hosting a hackathon this week. High school students with an interest in tech will participate for a chance to win some awesome prizes.CSUN, which is home to one of Southern California's best college incubators, will play host to the event.
