It’s my pleasure to invite you on a road trip with some of LA’s most promising digital companies. Some amazing companies, sponsors and investors are all packing up and heading to Austin for Digital LA and Radix Collective’s Silicon Beach Sunday Funday on March 10.
Though not affiliated with the conference, Sunday Funday will be happening amidst the buzz of SXSW Interactive (that thing that just about everyone in the tech world will be attending). All I am saying is while you’re in Austin, there will be plenty of additional events throughout the weekend to satisfy your techy desires.
But Sunday Funday will be the day to top all days because all big names will be there: including New World Ventures, Cooley LLP, Media Temple, 4WT Media, The Skool and, of course, Built In LA. Not to mention various LA tech companies, from the well-established to the small startups representing every industry, from fashion to ecommerce. We are all coming together for a daylong event (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.) at Frank, an artsy downtown hangout known for its hot dogs and beer.

Not only will the event showcase LA’s versatile and diverse tech community, but it will also celebrate LA’s relationships with tech communities in cities like New Orleans, San Francisco and New York, Radix Collective CEO Nicole Jordan said.
“It was during SXSW in 2007 that these bonds were first established when thought leaders from here in LA participated in a discussion about building community and bridging city divides during SXSW Interactive,” Jordan said. “Since then we've strengthened ties with our sister cities in tech. Sunday Funday at Frank is an occasion where we can celebrate how far we've come, and showcase what we've built along the way, at the largest tech convergence in the U.S.”
Spreading the excitement of LA’s tech community is something that Digital LA CEO Kevin Winston does annually with Silicon Beach Fest. Last June, the Fest was LA’s first startup entertainment tech conference and was highly successful; Winston said he wants to take the energy that was generated at the Fest’s and bring it to Austin for Sunday Funday.
"There's been so much Silicon Beach energy and startup activity in the past year that we wanted to feature LA's startups during SXSW in a big way with this Silicon Beach Sunday event,” Winston said.
Throughout the day on Sunday, there’s a couple of cool events going on like the Accelerator Spotlight featuring three stand-out emerging start-ups from local accelerators, open office hours with Cooley, a happy hour hosted by New World Ventures and chair massages brought to you by Cornerstone OnDemand. Now I know you are sold with the chair massages, so click here to reserve your free ticket.
I really hope to catch you all there to celebrate our amazing tech community. In the meantime, read up on the LA companies that will be represented:
