Santa Monica-based WeezLabs,Inc., a mobile development agency is getting set to launch their first app, Guest Locker in a few weeks. Guest Locker is an Android security app that lets you hand off your device to friends, coworkers and family while protecting the data you want to keep private and secure – no rooting required.
Sam Strasser, Director of Business Development for WeezLabs, said he frequently used his phone for giving demos, especially at conferences, and he’d have to give out his password numerous times a day. Security incidents like this are avoided with Guest Locker.
Security simplified, too secret to hack
Guest Locker keeps security a secret. They do this by having the user create two logins; an admin and a guest login. The secret part is that your guest won’t know they’re a guest, unless of course you tell them. Guests will never see restricted folders, and photos and media are still completely accessible and calls come in as they normally would. The user can keep total control around who can and can't call in or send texts, what apps are shown, photos are viewable, etc.
When the user logs back into admin from guest mode, all calls and texts that were missed while in the hands of a guest are displayed so the user stays connected.
The core idea is to keep private what was meant to be private: “You can’t hack what you can’t see,” said Strasser.

You don’t know what you don’t know!
Most security applications let guests know when access is revoked with a pop-up or crash message indicating access is denied.
Guest Locker bypasses this by keeping what’s private totally private and guests have no idea they’re seeing a restricted view.
If someone is denied access to something they know is there and want to see, eventually they will find a way in. Not only that, but people will inevitably accidentally delete photos or apps, especially the little ones.
Additionally, most people don’t want to know that there are a lot of security apps out there offering an entire suite of products to make your phone secure. WeezLabs is focusing on one aspect and doing it different than the other players.
Additional features include blocking calls from private contacts, hiding photos and videos to a secret folder, hiding individual contacts and hide SMS and MMS from private contacts.

Guest Locker's roots
CEO Andrey Kudievskiy is the visionary for Guest Locker. Along with Andrey, WeezLabs has a team of 10 dedicated to the app. Guest Locker started out as a shadowing app, and as they got feedback from users, it evolved into the simple security tool that will be launching soon.
The team at WeezLabs is excited about this product, hoping to reach 100,000 downloads quickly after launching.
