The holiday season has suddenly arrived and the LA tech community is beginning to get festive. Whether your looking for informative events and classes or simply hoping to join in on the festivities, here are five LA tech events to check out:

Coding for Beginners at GA, December 7 at 6:30 p.m.

What better way to usher in the new year than by learning a new skill? This free session, designed for the beginner programmer, will assume no previous coding knowledge. Instructors will go over key coding terminology and principles, introduce languages like HTML and CSS, and explain how they work together.

 

Growth Strategies with Headspace's CEO Sean Brecker, December 8 at 6:30 p.m.

Headspace makes meditation simple and accessible. They recently secured $30 million in funding and plan to release an enterprise product next year for businesses that want to provide mindfulness training for employees. Brecker will discuss the Headspace's potential within the office as well as their overall mobile growth strategy.

 

LA User Groups Holiday Party, December 10 at 6 p.m.

The whole gang is getting together. This networking event for the developer community to come together and have a few drinks will be have a holiday theme throughout with fun holiday pictures and festive drinks. 

 

Silicon Beach Professionals' Charity Holiday Mixer sponsored by LA Food Bank & Google, December 10 at 6 p.m.

You can never have enough holiday mixers. Join Silicon Beach's finest minds for a night of drinks and merry conversation. Half of every ticket sold will benefit the LA Food Bank. Attendees can also volunteer four hours of their time instead of paying full price. 
 

An Evening with Techstars Healthcare Accelerator, December 10 at 7 p.m.

If you're looking to ignore all of the holiday hubbub, join Techstars on Thursday night to learn more about their newest accelerator. They're looking for companies that are creating hardware, software, devices, or services that empower the patient or healthcare professional to better improve the healthcare space.
