Remento, an LA-based developer of a cross-platform solution, is on a mission to change the way people connect with their loved ones. The company’s solution allows relatives to record digital stories about their lives based on questions tailored exclusively for them. Afterward, users can manage and share those stories with the whole family.

The company secured a round of seed funding last year to explore how artificial intelligence could further its technological capabilities. Having arrived at a solution, Remento announced the launch of its Remento Book offering on Wednesday.

The product is an AI-enabled service for collecting and preserving family stories. Every week, a storyteller receives an emailed prompt that other family members can customize with photos and additional questions. From there, the storyteller can record their spoken stories using Remento’s automated interview studio from any device.

Remento’s Speech-To-Story technology then transcribes the recordings into editable written stories. These stories get shared across the family each week before ultimately getting printed into a hardcover, color-printed book. The pages will also feature QR codes that link to the original recordings.

In addition to adding photos and asking questions, this collaborative solution allows families to share responses to stories with each other. At the end of the process, they receive a physical copy of their relative’s personal life stories to revisit any time.
