Altruist raised $112M. The company developed a platform that combines a self-clearing brokerage firm with software for account opening, trading, reporting and billing. Backed by Insight Partners for its Series D funding round, Altruist will further develop and expand its services to customers in a broader segment of the RIA market, such as mid-sized firms. Haven Energy raised $4.2M. A climate tech company focused on home battery systems is joining the SoCal tech scene with a fresh round of capital. Haven Energy pulled in seed capital from Lerer Hippeau, Giant Ventures and others to launch its operations. Haven Energy said its goal is to accelerate the adoption of home energy storage. DNEG announced plans to acquire Prime Focus Technologies. DNEG, a visual entertainment services company, entered a deal ​​to acquire Prime Focus Technologies, a developer of enterprise resource planning solutions for the media and entertainment industry. The transaction will add Prime Focus’ CLEAR AI software suite and artificial intelligence tech to DNEG’s platform to help customers manage content, video collaboration and automation.
