A lot of publishers depend on ads for revenue, but oftentimes, those payments come in late. Sometimes publishers have to wait 30 to 120 days after they submit an invoice.

Engage:BDR came up with a solution so publishers wouldn’t have to wait for their paydays. The company launched its NetZero payments program to get payments to publishers the same day they submit an invoice, kind of like an advance on a paycheck.

On Monday, the company announced that it raised $26.25 million to accelerate the launch of NetZero.

Engage:BDR is a marketing solutions company that helps advertisers show their display and video ads, and helps content owners get paid for showing those ads. The company works with ads across platforms, including web and mobile.

Other competitors in the space have tried to offer similar products to get publishers paid faster for ads, but this often involves giving them a loan that they have to pay interest on (sometimes charging as much as 25 percent APR). Engage:BDR hopes NetZero will help publishers improve their cashflow without paying these extra costs.

“If you equate value to consumer interest and adoption, the best publishers should be treated very well and attract the very best capital options the industry can provide to them, particularly companies like mine that have flourished as a result of the dollars great app makers generate,” engage:BDR CEO Ted Dhanik said in a statement. “That understanding and commitment was the genesis of NetZero. Engage:BDR is committed to providing our partners in media buying and selling with the best opportunities possible.”
