Two Los Angeles-based companies cracked the top 20 on Inc. Magazine’s newest list of the fastest growing tech companies in the U.S.
The magazine released its annual Inc. 5,000 list on Aug. 14, which highlights the fastest growing young companies across the U.S. Inc.’s list only includes private companies that have started generating revenue by the end of March 2015. Those companies are then ranked based on revenue growth they generated between 2015 and 2018.
This year, 306 of companies made it for the Los Angeles area. Below are Inc.’s top five in the rankings.

NOM — an acronym for “Not Ordinary Media” — is a video technology and data firm that helps companies advertise on social media. Founded in 2014, the company’s portfolio of clients include Blizzard and Universal, among others. The Los Angeles-based firm still operates independently, although it sold to MTM, a New York City-based ad and marketing firm in 2017, according to Inc. The magazine reported NOM generated $21.4 million in revenue in 2018, up 11,996 percent over the last three years.

Launched in 2014, MuteSix is a Los Angeles-based digital marketing agency that helps companies find customers through social media ads, search engine and email marketing. Inc. reported that MuteSix generated $17.3 million in revenue in 2018, up 10,176 percent from three years ago.

Villaway is a Los Angeles-based marketplace for vacation rental properties. Unlike Airbnb, Villaway only lists properties that have been professionally inspected and hand selected by its team of experts. Inc. reported Villaway generated $7 million in 2018, up 5,936 percent from three years ago. Villaway was launched in 2014.

4th & Heart is a Venice Beach-based food and beverage firm that was founded in 2014. Inc. reported 4th & Heart generated $14.3 million in 2018, up 4,283 percent from three years ago.

Feedonomics is a Woodland Hills-based firm that helps businesses list their products on Amazon, eBay, Walmart and other marketplaces. It also helps firms list their goods on such search engines as Google and Bing. In addition to listing products, Feedonomics helps companies condense their listings into one “master feed.” Inc. reported that Feedonomics generated $7.4 million in 2018, up 3,371 percent from three years ago. Feedonomics was launched in 2014.
