Move over, Candy Crush. Star Trek: Fleet Command just reached a major mobile game milestone: $100 million in revenue after less than a year on the market. The success of the game has helped parent company Scopely hit the $1 billion revenue mark, as well.

Star Trek: Fleet Command hit iOS and Android devices as recently as November 2018, but is already logging some serious numbers: according to a statement released in light of the milestone, more than 1.5 billion “battles” have taken place on the game, accounting for more than 4.7 million days’ worth of gameplay. Even more notably, player engagement numbers are looking good, with 85 percent of all players logging on at least five out of seven days each week.

“Our team spends years building our games, so it’s hugely rewarding to have one of our products achieve the $100 million revenue milestone so quickly after launch,” said Scopely’s co-CEO Javier Ferreira in a statement.

It’s hugely rewarding to have one of our products achieve the $100 million revenue milestone so quickly.”

Steve Huff, Scopely’s General Manager and VP of Product, pointed to the game’s dedication to Star Trek fandom as a reason for its continued success:

“Our goal with Star Trek: Fleet Command is to provide a game experience that players love, stay true to the Star Trek franchise, and offer the most aesthetically, narratively and mechanically immersive experience possible,” he said in a statement.

To that end, members of the game’s development team will be attending this year’s Official Star Trek Convention to soak in the franchise’s rich fan history and culture.

Overall, it’s been a whirlwind year for LA-based mobile game developer Scopely. In addition to the success of Star Trek: Fleet Command and hitting the $1 billion in revenue mark, Scopely recently revealed plans to open a shiny, new 60,000 square-foot headquarters in LA next year.

The firm also acquired Irish game developer DIGIT Game Studios back in May. DIGIT has worked closely with Scopely on the development of the Star Trek: Fleet Command Game, and will continue to do so.

These exciting developments have all taken place in the wake of Scopely’s $100 million Series C funding, which took place roughly a year ago, in June 2018. At the time, the company held an impressive $600 million pre-money valuation.
