Los Angeles has no shortage of awesome tech offices. While the decor and layout may vary, many of the region’s tech companies have similar goals when it comes to the design of their spaces: to promote collaboration, encourage communication and spark inspiration. Here’s how two LA tech companies took these goals and used them to design incredible offices.

Wpromote’s El Segundo headquarters is a busy place, but that doesn’t mean employees lead hectic lives. The fast-growing digital marketing agency’s Silicon Beach office is designed to facilitate collaboration and communication while also providing ample opportunities to recharge and relax. Recruiter Sarah Pollock shared more details about what drove the design of Wpromote’s HQ, along with the features team members love most.

Where they’re at: 2100 East Grand Avenue in El Segundo.

Square footage: 32,000 (but it’s probably closer to 33,000)

What was the most important thing to you in designing the space?

The most important thing was having an open-concept workspace. It allows for collaboration and encourages spontaneous conversation and transparency. It also cultivates a space for employees to be genuine and actually enjoy where they work. It was also important for us to find a workspace that was dog friendly and provided various food options.

What feature of your office do employees love the most and why?

I love that Wpromote LA is a dog-friendly office. It’s extremely convenient as a dog owner, and it’s also really therapeutic when we work in such a fast-paced industry. Another great perk of our office location is how close it is to LAX. I also love the bistro and outdoor spaces and of course our cold brew and kombucha on tap!

InvestCloud develops digital solutions for banks, wealth management companies, institutional investors and more. The company has developed over 300 cloud-native, modular financial apps, and its portfolio is continually growing. While InvestCloud has a global presence, the company’s home and headquarters is located in West Hollywood. We caught up with CEO John Wise and Chief of Staff Fiona Francois to learn more about its space.

Where they’re at: The Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood at 700 N. San Vicente Boulevard

Square footage: 24,000, split equally between headquarters and innovation center

What was the most important thing to you in designing the space?

Wise: We believe our physical space should inspire innovation and collaboration. The open-plan format enables flexible configuration of desks and the use of a variety of meeting rooms and spaces to suit different activities, moods, preferences and audiences. We want our team members to look forward to, and enjoy coming in to, our beautiful offices. We use artwork to stimulate conversation, and our kitchen and bar area bring our community together.

What feature of your office do employees love the most and why?

Francois: An employee favorite tends to be our Innovation Center, home to our digital theater. This state-of-the-art space enables our team members across the world to connect, collaborate and share assets. The Innovation Center has the added benefit of being home to our weekly themed happy hours and our ping-pong tables.
