Structural Analyst (Civil Infrastructure)
As a Structural Analyst at Hyperloop One you will play a key role in developing the transportation system of the future. Your designs and analyses will be instrumental in developing a safe, cost effective and robust design.
Responsibilities:
- Perform linear and non-linear, static and dynamic structural finite element analysis, principally for civil, structural and geotechnical applications (e.g. earthquake, wind, and vibration analysis)
- Collaborate with other structural, geotechnical, and civil engineers in our team and mechanical and aerospace engineers in other teams to develop and analyze structural system models in support of comprehensive and production ready design
- Create cost effective structural systems in compliance with regional codes and guidelines around the world
Requirements:
- BS in Structural Engineering or similar field
- 3+ years of demonstrated professional experience with structural FEA software, including SAP2000, ANSYS, LS DYNA, and other tools
- Solid understanding and proven experience in structural dynamics
- Fundamental knowledge of structural mechanics and earthquake engineering
- Must be able to think on her/his feet
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Preferences:
- Advanced degree (MS, MEng or PhD) in Structural Engineering or similar field
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) license
- Experience with composites or non-standard structural materials
- Experience with seismic isolation and/or damping devices
- Experience in the fabrication and/or installation of complex structures
- Design skills utilizing AutoCAD software packages
