Sr. Manufacturing Engineer – Machining and Fabrication Specialist
The Manufacturing Department is responsible to build, and to develop the processes and equipment that will build the Hyperloop.
PURPOSE
The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer – Machining and Fabrication Specialist will be based in Los Angeles, CA., and will be the primary liaison between our mechanical design engineers and our internal and external machining and fab suppliers.

- Manufacturability and DFM of our products and tooling both large and small components
- Selection of manufacturing methods, alternative methods and materials
- Chief conduit between LA and our Las Vegas shop, including understanding shop capabilities, materials on hand and availability in LV, abreast of shop schedule and throughput capability, proactively understanding LA design teams challenges and current design work
- Development of machining and assembly tooling
- Workflow drawing sign-off for manufacturing team
- CAD and product configuration planning for manufacturing and assembly
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Well versed in machine and fab tools and operations including manual and NC machining, waterjet, welding and weld inspection
- Very knowledgeable of large weldment fabrication and machining
- Proficient machinist and CAD designer with ability to design tools
- Understand GD&T, metrology, and inspection tools and techniques
- Familiar with field machining operations and tracker work
- Ability for regular travel (day trips) to Las Vegas
- At least 5 years of applicable experience
- Excellent communicator and collaborator
