We are seeking a mid-career professional with an entrepreneurial mindset who is on the pulse of digital media strategy and traditional marketing experience. You catalyze audience engagement around social change, and take narrative and combine it with quantitative data to inform strategy and decision making. The ideal candidate  likes collaborative work and is comfortable working in teams. 

Oversees ads planning and strategy, from concept to budget forecasting, to optimizing based on analytics and advertising performance.

Reports to the Director of  the Data & Technology Department.

Qualifications 

Leadership Experience: 2+ years relevant leadership experience, including 1+ years in agency, activism and/or change work.

Work Experience: Experience building marketing plans, digital strategies, audience analytics and optimization and presenting plans and findings. 

Technical Experience: Proficiency in social ad managers (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn), Google ad products, programmatic display products, data visualization tools and  comfort with large spreadsheets and amounts of data. 

Team Experience: Experience as a member of a mission focused team.

Research & Analytics:  Ability to analyze, and decipher quantitative and qualitative data.

Other Preferred Knowledge:

  • Experience working in an agency setting or consulting firm.
  • Active member of coalitions and communities we serve. 
  • Knowledge and understanding of the political process, power and politics.
  • Bilingual

Key Competencies and Responsibilities 

Media Planning

  • Develop advertising plans that map out objectives, KPIs and goals.
  • Research potential placements for ad buys and tools to utilize data aggregation per client.  
  • Create recommendations designed for optimization based on analytics.
  • Tests, segments and reports on email, social and website performance.

Campaign Management

  • Contribute to cross-department brainstorms for campaign concepting and work in partnership and across departments as needed/as appropriate.
  • Use data to iterate and refine strategy and identify where pivots are necessary. 
  • Work in partnership with other team members (Strategy, Design, Content), to ensure all touchpoints are cohesive, goal oriented, and moving the client closer to their goalposts through feedback, testing, quality assurance etc. 

Client Management

  • Support and co-lead client-facing metric reports and meanings. 
  • Contributes to first-level support to clients and ensures that questions about our services are addressed.

Resource Management

  • Delegates work within the analyst team with intentionality, monitors progress, and troubleshoots barriers that arise. 

Supervision

  • Supervise 1-2 staff – being proactive about their professional development and well-being.
  • Takes responsibility for performance of specific projects, and supports direct reports by setting clear goals and expectations, tracking progress against the goals, giving timely corrective and affirmative feedback, and addressing performance challenges and opportunities.
  • Translate Swell's vision to the work of individual direct reports.

  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure strategy work moves from planning to execution (e.g., design, content development, ads/audience development, etc.).

  • Share ideas to better refine our processes and deliverables.

Business Development

  • Provide guidance, budget recommendations, and effective practices for potential clients.
