 THE PURPOSE 
  • The Senior Business Analyst’s role is to plan, develop and launch analytic systems and tools designed to optimize business performance. The Senior Business Analyst is an expert in Hyperloop business operations systems and understands how to pull and organize data for individual contributors, managers, and executives in support of core organizational objectives. This role uses advanced analytics to understand what the business needs before being asked, and is able to present useful information on demand. The Senior Business Analyst also makes creative recommendations for system enhancements and corrective actions based on data, and generates and compiles investigative reports, complete with probable causes and possible solutions to systems issues. The Senior Business Analyst also has vision of how to improve business processes to better track real-time activity and allow Hyperloop One to operate more efficiently and quickly. The analyst will be very process-oriented and able to adapt to a quickly changing environment. The individual in this position will apply proven communication, analytical, and creative problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve business issues.
 THE ROLE
  • Plan, design, and roll out core reporting functionality for operational excellence, including user dashboards required to measure, monitor, and control business processes
  • Help design user tools and reports to manage open purchase orders, supplier performance, accounts receivable, supplier onboarding, and budget compliance
  • Act as the systems subject matter expert for procurement and operations in the planning, design, and development, of new IT applications as well as enhancements to existing applications
  • Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business requirements and systems goals, and create associated analytical tools required to direct business systems changes
  • Assist with the creation of new business processes, controls, and procedures, including requirements documents and use cases
  • Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing processes and systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems
  • Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas in business processes across the organization
  • Provide orientation and training to end users on modified new systems, dashboards, or reports
  • Collect and document user and business requirements using a variety of methods including user interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, business process descriptions, use cases, task and workflow analysis
  • Assist the business in determining which processes can and should be automated; lead the prioritization of system enhancement requests with business and IT management; conduct research on hardware and software products to justify recommendations
  • Work directly with business users to troubleshoot, process map, and continuously improve data accuracy, relevance, and business processes
 THE CANDIDATE 
  • The ideal candidate for this role will have a blend of technical and business experience with a strong background in process improvement

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, experience in presenting complex ideas to executive level audiences
  • Strong relationship building skills, and ability to interact and work effectively with all levels of personnel and influence key stakeholders in order to get things done and set proper expectations 
  • Ability to take ownership and assignments of projects from beginning to end and capable of self-checking work produced for completeness and accuracy
 REQUIRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE 
  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field, and related work experience
  • Proven experience in the design, development, and implementation of analytical tools, software and hardware solutions, systems, or products
  • Proven history of delivering key initiatives such as deployment of business applications, technology migrations, new product launches, and maximizing operational efficiencies and cost reduction
  • Professional experience using SQL to write reports; familiarity with Microsoft’s SSRS
  • Experience using tools such as Microsoft Word, Visio and Excel in documenting requirements and functional specifications
  • Extensive practical knowledge in importing data for use in report software, spreadsheets, graphs and flow charts
  • Proven experience in the operation and analysis of database hardware, software, and standards, as well as data retrieval methodologies
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Understanding of cloud and SaaS platform-based company operations and infrastructure
  • Experience working with ERP system functionality and relational databases (Oracle, SQL, Server, etc)
  • Experience creating dashboards or report suites that drive business behavior
  • Proven record of delivering new or optimized analytical tools that drive business process improvements in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
 PREFERRED EXPERIENCE 
  • Previous experience with ERP systems implementation
  • Previous experience in a start-up or high growth environment
  • Experience with financial control systems or cost accounting structures
  • Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
