Who We’re Seeking:

Omaze's API team is looking for great engineering talent to help us grow in 2017, 2018 and beyond. We have interesting problems and big ambitions. We need outstanding people to help us build something awesome.

A Senior Software Engineer at Omaze is someone special. You've got experience, but also wisdom; you're great technically, but also with people; you take pride in your craft, and also in the success of your teammates. You have high standards. The successful candidate will be:

•Experienced. You have a deep understanding of how to architect and build scalable back-end                systems that serve different clients;

Key Responsibilities:

• Architecture: Be a leader in proposing innovative designs to enhance our existing infrastructure and develop solutions to solve unique business issues.
• Performance: Maintain a highly responsive system by ensuring code quality, stability and scalability.
• Feature delivery: Write well designed, testable and reliable code as you ship features that help support amazing causes world-wide.
• Team oriented: Support and mentor fellow developers by providing advice, encouraging best practices and performing design and code reviews.

Our Ideal Candidate:

• You have a minimum of 7 years professional software experience
• You have deep knowledge of at least one object-oriented language. (And if you have more, awesome.)
• You would enjoy working in Python.
• You have experience with data engineering tools and systems (ETLs, Luigi, Spark, etc.).
• You have a willingness and ability to communicate ideas and lead/mentor other developers.
• You have designed and implemented optimized, scalable architectures.
• You have built and worked with RESTful APIs
• You are great at query optimization on relational (MySQL) and non-relational databases.
• You have experience with AWS technologies such as Lambda, RedShift, DynamoDB, and S3.
• You have experience with RabbitMQ, Celery, Redis, and ElasticSearch
• You're great with distributed systems and Internet protocols.
• You know how to optimize: debuggers, profilers, and performance measurement tools.
