We are looking for a strong Infrastructure Engineer that can build, improve, and grow our infrastructure. This individual will help drive speed, scale, and stability as we grow. They will build and improve the tools that enable our engineers to deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot issues across our environments.
We recently finished a migration to an automated AWS setup that uses Ansible and Terraform. As our user base rapidly grows, we are setting more ambitious goals for our infrastructure as we launch new products and expand our offerings.

The Responsibilities
- Build and maintain ChowNow infrastructure to support thousands of restaurants and millions of diners.
- Design, improve, and expand continuous integration and deploy pipelines.
- Own and evolve our monitoring, alerting, and visualization systems.
- Train and mentor engineers on build and deployment tools and processes.
- Oversee security and data access best practices.
- Monitor and respond to alerts / outages in an on-call rotation.
- Continually identify areas for improvement and develop appropriate resolutions.
The Requirements
- 3+ years of Infrastructure / DevOps experience
- 5 years overall developer experience
- AWS experience, including but not limited to EC2, RDS, Route 53, and auto-scale.
- Proficient with at least one programming language (Python preferred).
- Solid understanding of Linux operating systems, ideally Debian or Ubuntu, and networking fundamentals.
- Experience creating scalable systems, preferably in e-commerce or consumer-facing websites.
- Familiarity with modern virtualization techniques and container management solutions such as Docker.
- Strong knowledge of at least one of the major configuration management and automation frameworks (Ansible preferred).
- Experience with Hashicorp tools, primarily Vagrant and Terraform, and/or Jenkins is a plus.
- Experience with MySQL, ElasticSearch, or Redis is a plus.
