The Merchandising Assistant will work with the Category Management and Procurement team to assist with clerical tasks and data entry related specifically to the Merchandising department. This position will require frequent and clear communication with members of the merch team, the distribution centers, external brand partners, and other teams in the company. The Merchandising Assistant will need to have strong attention to detail, the ability to complete tasks accurately and in a timely manner, and have a passion for the department and business.
Responsibilities
- Assist buying team with purchase order process, which may include entry, vendor confirmation, and updating any changes as needed
- Work with the merchandising team, vendors and distribution centers to resolve shipping/receiving discrepancies
- Setup new vendors and products with all relevant product information in systems
- Manage new item setup process and ensure an accurate and timely launch for all new SKUs
- Assist buyers in maintaining, tracking, and organizing product photography and brand submission samples
- Item maintenance for both direct and distribution brands, including but not limited to, cost changes, packaging changes, discount audits etc
- Review warehouse receipts and work with Procurement team to resolve any issues
- Assist in building reports and special projects
- Support buying staff as needed

- Ability to work as part of a team and cross functionally
- Ability to adapt and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong time management, multi-tasking, problem solving and prioritizing skills
- Detail oriented
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Eager to learn and take on new responsibilities
- College Degree required
