In this role, you The IT Training Specialist will report to the IT Service Center Manager in Los Angeles. The role will be focusing on developing the onboarding of new Hyperloop users. Each type of user will require a different orientation, and the right candidate will focus on developing courseware specified to role type. This person will also deliver training to end users in the organization about how to use various types of software programs efficiently and effectively in support of business objectives, both in a one on one situation or with an entire team/department. This individual is responsible for designing, delivering, and improving in-house software applications training programs and related courseware, as well as managing IT’s presence in the onboarding process. Should this person excel in the role, there is also the opportunity to build a new department from the ground up.will provide maintenance of the computer desktop environment by analyzing requirements, resolving problems, installing hardware and software solutions, and supporting the internal IT helpdesk. You will be responsible for administration and internal support of the Company’s PCs, printers, servers, and related equipment. Tasks include end user support, license tracking, and performing PC maintenance, upgrades and configurations.

Responsibilities

Strategy & Planning• Coordinate with department heads to assess departmental training needs and objectives.
• Coordinate with HR and Engineering to deliver proper training during onboarding.
• Create, analyze, and administer end user needs and skills assessments.
• Develop and coordinate an overall software applications training curriculum for end users.
• Document processes and applications for end user self-training.
• Develop Departmental specific onboarding and training.

 

Acquisition & Deployment
• Assess, recommend, and purchase courseware packages to implement appropriate courseware tools.
• Manage computer-based training products and services in support of development and purchasing efforts.

 

Operational Management
• Provide training on all firm-supported software through in-person, instructor-led classroom training, webinars, videoconferencing and one-on-one coaching.
• Monitor status of all new-hire hardware requests throughout onboarding process.
• Conduct new hire training.
• Conduct in depth help-desk training.
• Design and develop training strategies that are engaging, innovative, and meet learning objectives.
• Create and communicate training schedules in consultation with departmental decision makers.
• Establish and maintain a database to track training participants’ status and results.
• Make recommendations for training improvement, and integrate changes in curriculum and/or courses.
• Research and communicate software problems and issues to software development and support teams.
• Manage administrator responsibilities for certain IT applications, depending on need.
• Create and manage Sharepoint pages for specific teams around training and learning needs.


Requirements


• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of common help-desk troubleshooting methods.
• A background in training and development in a professional environment.
• Minimum of five years’ experience delivering technical training and creating training documentation.
• Frequent travel (domestic and abroad) to deliver training to end users companywide.
