The Honest Company has kicked off the search for an Inventory Accounting Manager! In this role, you’ll be responsible for the accuracy and integrity of inventory quantities and values, while working closely with product development, operations, and sales on inventory related business needs.
What you’ll do:
- Oversee the integrity of inventory controls and accuracy of record keeping of all categories of inventory
- Maintain a perpetual inventory for all inventory categories and reconcile the perpetual to receiving, shipping, production, and returns daily
- Analyze and publish analytics regarding inventory accuracy and adjustments
- Run daily integrity reports and lead team effort to reconcile errors in a timely manner
- Oversee cycle counting program and annual physical inventory count
- Monitor and reconcile inventory held at supplier and other 3rd party locations
- Monitor integrity of inventory and item master data related to costing/valuation and AAI’s (automated accounting instructions) for reporting
- Troubleshoot errant purchase orders, sales orders, work orders, bills of materials, inventory transfers, etc
- Develop and maintain standards for landed costs and labor and ensure that variances to actuals are analyzed, re-measured, and adjusted regularly
- Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable with PO receipt reconciliation
- Analyze vendor compliance chargebacks related to inventory or fulfillment issues
- Analyze potential excess and obsolete inventory items monthly
- Prepare ad hoc analyses and reports as needed

What you’ll need:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or related field
- 5+ years experience in an accounting environment
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with financial/cost accounting related to inventory transactions, physical inventory counts, costing, and valuation analysis
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, vlookups, macros, and other advanced functions
- Prior experience working with large and/or established ERP and WMS systems
- Willingness to travel to our fulfillment center and 3rd party locations
Bonus points for:
- Experience at a Big 4 firm
- Familiarity with JD Edwards and Softion systems
