THE PURPOSE:

The experienced, hands-on Requirements Engineering Leader is responsible for successfully delivering overall requirements development and management efforts related to development, testing, documentation, licensing, operational implementation, modifications management and issue resolution for the total system and detailed in both hardware and software.

The Requirements Engineering Leader understands and practices the disciplined application of proven, scientific, engineering, quality, and management principles, and brings these principles together to develop, manage, validate, and verify requirements.

In this role, the Requirements Engineering Leader will manage a small team of Requirements Specialists with overall responsibility for creating and drawing up all system requirements via working collaboration with Engineering and other key stake holders including regulatory requirements.

 The successful candidate will be a member of Engineering organization and report to the Leader of Systems Engineering.

THE ROLE:

  • Responsible for all aspects of total system requirements (development, documentation, tracking, validation and implementation) on both hardware and software sides
  • Creating and drawing up all system requirements
  • Responsible for development and integration of processes of methodologies to ensure successful performance of the total system
  • Management and maintenance of total system requirements
  • Manage the sign off process and ensure it is in line with program timing
  • Establish clear documentation prior to program completion, track achieved requirements along with any deviations.
  • Track all formal approvals.
  • Implementation of requirements tracking software tool

CANDIDATE PROFILE: 

Successful candidate must have strong technical background and extensive experience managing requirements for large complex product or system developments. Must communicate clearly and work with other collaboratively. Must be accustomed to and be able to work with engineers across all departments as well as, other stake holders, and vendors. Must be a problem solver/creative thinker.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Must have extensive, hands-on experience in creating and managing requirements for large complete complex systems
  • BS in Engineering or related discipline; advanced Engineering degree preferred
  • Ability to work across various engineering disciplines to create requirements
  • Minimum of five years’ experience managing requirements on compete complex systems
  • Experience managing both hardware and software requirements
  • Previous hand-on development, design, and analysis with requirements development experience
  • Experience with requirements management tools such as JIRA, DOORS etc.
  • Proven track record of strong team collaboration and experience across multiple functions
  • Must have strong leadership skills and experience managing and leading people
  • Requires strong written and verbal presentation skills including formal and informal presentations of work assignments
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to dialogue, negotiate, influence and work with other collaboratively and constructively

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Advanced Engineering degree preferred
  • Experience implementing a requirements management tool such as JIRA, DOORS etc.
