Loot Crate was founded in 2012 around a simple idea: put the awesomeness of Comic-Con in a box. Today, we ship some of the coolest geek, gaming, and pop-culture collectibles and accessories to a subscriber base in the hundreds of thousands (with no signs of slowing down) making us one of the top subscription box services in the world! We’ve assembled an amazing team of passionate, ambitious, impossibly nerdy people who cultivate our amazing fan community, provide support of the highest caliber, and generally just sit there radiating niceness. We’re always on the lookout for fun, hard-working new people to join our team and make Loot Crate even better.

The Director of Brand Creative will be responsible for leading and empowering all the creative team members for our largest crate, the Core Crate, towards a single strategic vision and set of goals. You will research and curate a wide range of products from Loot Crates partners, such as toys, collectibles, home goods, hats, wallets, socks, and prints.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Lead the team to align on user/customer expectations of product by utilizing insights and research
  • Establish and champion the monthly themes and branding direction for the marketing needs, while transferring final creative execution to digital design teams
  • Partner with our internal Sourcing and Procurement team in setting product goals, negotiating terms and selecting products
  • Maintain a timely calendar and efficient development process
  • Manage external prototype and manufacturing vendors to ensure that design intent, quality, and product deadlines are met
  • Perform quality control of physical goods from samples through production
  • Share and communicate creative goals with internal partner teams and senior management team.
  • Attend industry events like Comic Con, Toy Fair, and Magic. As well as competitive shopping, magazines, and websites.

WHAT DEFINES SUCCESS:

  • Curate product assortments for the crate each month that helps lead to successful subscriber acquisition and retention
  • Demonstrate ability to partner with cross-functional teams

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED:

  • 8+ years of experience with licensed product, product management, entertainment, toy or novelty industry
  • Extensive interest in and knowledge of geek and video game culture, and ability to stay abreast of current trends in fan-driven brands
  • Hands-on experience with all phases of the design process- from trend research and design strategy to concept development and manufacturing execution
  • Experience with Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop), as well as experience with relevant software, design tools, prototyping tools, materials and manufacturing processes
