The Test and Development Team is responsible for developing and implementing testing equipment and methods to qualify components and systems related to the Hyperloop One Transportation System. This includes systems from propulsion to levitation as well as other ancillary mechanical and electrical components. The team also designs and builds unique tooling and control systems to support the Hyperloop one initiative. We are seeking candidates with varying levels of experience to join our team of qualified and diverse professionals at our Los Angeles headquarters.

We are looking for individuals who enjoy working in a Team environment and who are able to tackle tough technical challenges. These individuals need to have a working knowledge of machine, electrical and/or tooling design. Must also be prepared to be “hands on” in the shop. In other words, know your way around a toolbox! Also, individuals that can multitask and manage their time in this fast pace environment.

The Test & Development team is looking for a versatile individual to work on software and systems development in support of both large- and small-scale development projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Support test engineers with data acquisition and control needs
  • Collaborate with engineers to meet development goals
  • Maintain highly readable code base and improve on existing solutions
  • Select and recommend sensors from project requirements document
  • Produce and maintain current documentation/drawings of deployed systems
  • Advise on industry best practices for test and development projects
  • Maintain familiarity with changing technological landscapes (e.g. IIoT, cloud)

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, electrical engineering, aerospace or mechanical engineering
  • Proficiency with NI cRIO, PXI systems; certification in LabVIEW preferred
  • Proficiency with Python or other scripting languages
  • Experience with integration of subsystems of various kinds (PLC, NI, CAN, etc.) 
  • Good organizational skills and detail oriented

 

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of industrial automation, PLCs, SCADA systems, OPC, Safety systems
  • Experience in robotics, aerospace, heavy machinery
  • Knowledge of databases, MySQL, MongoDB
  • Knowledge of web technologies, Django, AWS, javascript
  • Experience with an object-oriented language or C, .NET
  • Experience with CANOpen protocol
  • Proficiency using version control systems such as git or svn
  • Experience with ticketing and documentation systems, such as Sharepoint, Redmine, or Trac
  • Knowledge of computer networking
