THE PURPOSE:
The Data Architect will be part of the Systems Engineering Division. This team develops systems to build, integrate, and support Hyperloop One. Ultimately, we will design reliable, scalable, real-time applications that make Hyperloop One a reality. We are seeking candidates with various levels of experience to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.
THE ROLE:
- Design the Data Architecture for systems and applications.
- Manage multiple project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Develop and enforce data management standards.
- Build and maintain a data dictionary for documentation purposes across multiple organizations.
- Work with other functional groups to ensure that data governance and standards are being followed.
- Implement creative solutions to tough problems.
- Participate in design and code reviews to ensure system compatibility and reliability.

- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to conduct research into issues and products as required.
- Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language and visuals.
- Highly self-motivated and directed.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- BS Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Mathematics.
- 5+ years in creating and persisting data/data models
- Experience defining, developing, and maintaining relational and No-SQL databases.
- Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in database optimization and administration.
- Experience with SQL Server, mysql, mongo, or other databases.
- Experience with IoT and gathering/persistence of sensor data.
