The Purpose

Our mission is to revolutionize transportation and transform cities and supply chains globally. In line with our large ambitions, we need a top-flight legal team to address a wide array of novel and complex legal issues. These include professional service agreements, corporate and project financing, regulatory affairs, joint ventures and partnership agreements, and intellectual property.

We are further growing the team by hiring a Contracts Specialist who will work closely with our Commercial Counsel to support all levels of the organization and partnering with various business units to efficiently grow our business. The successful candidate will help the Commercial Counsel draft, negotiate and execute a large volume and breadth of agreements to obtain goods and services, build out our infrastructure, and develop key partnerships.

Ideal candidates should be detail-oriented, problem solvers who work well in a team environment and have excellent communication skills.

The Role
  • Structure, draft and negotiate a high volume of agreements (e.g., non-disclosure agreements, procurement contracts, master service agreements, construction agreements, software licensing agreements), both independently and in collaboration with Commercial Counsel
  • Assist with developing strategies on contract negotiation, fallback positions, and acceptable terms and conditions
  • Update contract templates based on changing best practices
  • Oversee a contracts management system, including contract upload and retrieval, electronic signature, metadata collection, and reporting.
  • Develop and conduct trainings to educate internal stakeholders on contracts drafting, negotiations, commercial implications, and risks
Candidate Profile
  • The ideal candidate for this role will demonstrate experience with drafting, redlining and negotiating contracts, such as professional services agreements, procurement contracts and licensing agreements
  • Possess business knowledge of emerging technologies, construction, datacenters and operations
  • Demonstrate ability to identify and implement process improvements and lead complex initiatives
Minimum Required Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree plus professional experience or new law school graduate
  • Strong work ethic, high integrity, and experience with technology companies
  • Ability to work on several projects simultaneously with tight deadlines
  • Ability to work independently, with appropriate oversight, as well as part of a team of attorneys and business professionals 

 

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous in-house legal experience at a leading, high-growth technology company or law firm
  • Experience with mass transit, rail or aerospace industries
