Compensation Manager
OpenX is looking for a Compensation Manager to join our fun, dynamic and high-performing People team. You will be responsible for providing compensation that attracts and retains top talent.
As a Compensation Manager you will own our compensation-related programs and services (details below). You will have broad authority to enhance all our compensation related programs, and will work closely with the Chief People Officer and Director of People Partners to determine competitive compensation programs for our dynamic technology company. This position will report to the Chief People Officer and manage our compensation programs and processes as an individual contributor.
Key Responsibilities
Compensation Program management
- Creates and supports global compensation programs, practices, and policies to attract and retain top talent (US, EMEA, Japan)
- Works with internal stakeholders on a variety of projects including program design, analysis, budgeting, and implementation of new programs
- Supports merit and bonus activities including annual, bi-annual and quarterly compensation review cycles
- Develops and documents procedures to streamline processes and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and work with People Partners Managers to educate Managers
- Identifies trends related to industry and geographic best practices (US, EMEA, Japan)
Compensation Analysis
- Researches and analyzes new and existing positions and creates salary grade structures and makes sound recommendations by interpreting current pay practices to resolve compensation/grade classification concerns
- Performs special compensation, market and internal equity studies by analyzing salary data and work experience of existing employees
- Tracks trends and provides metrics related to compensation activities at the aggregate and business unit level
Position Management
- Partners with People team and managers to create, update and maintain job descriptions and leveling
- Maintains appropriate job titles, job codes, FLSA status, pay grade, incentive target, etc. for new job codes and inputs into HR system
- Advises our talent team on appropriate job offers and review promotional salary increases
Benchmarking
- Participates in and conducts exempt and nonexempt salary surveys to ensure corporate compensation objectives are achieved
- Makes recommendations on any necessary adjustments to the company’s salary structure and job families on an annual basis
- Conducts internal audits to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local laws and regulations
Systems
- Develops and maintains compensation data, tables, and overall set-up in the HCM and MarketPay
- Coordinates applicable adjustments to pay and benefits with the Company’s Payroll department
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Finance or Human Resources
- A minimum of 10+ years’ experience in compensation administration required, Certified Compensation Professional designation is a strong plus
- Experience in technology or other fast paced industries
- Experience with Radford and Croner surveys, WorkDay, and MarketPay software. Knowledge of Sales Incentive programs
- Advanced Excel or Google sheets skills required, PowerPoint strongly preferred
- Understands a Total Rewards/Compensation philosophy and ability to develop and drive a Total Rewards/Compensation program
- HR related experience i.e. HR Business Partner, Talent, Generalist
- Strong quantitative, statistical, and analytical skills and ability to generate reports
- Ability to effectively communicate compensation concepts and tools with different client groups across OpenX
