Your New Role
Warner Bros. Discovery seeks a research administrator to support the Clip Licensing and Consumer Products departments with rights research, analysis, and management. This position will be responsible for researching and analyzing WBD's clip licensing and other ancillary rights, and for documenting such rights in the studio's enterprise rights management system. This position will also be the initial point of contact for incoming requests to the clip licensing department, which includes setting up digital files and maintaining the department email inbox.
Your Role Accountabilities
- Research, review and analyze WBD's rights with respect to clip licensing and other ancillary rights for all requested titles. Research may include reviewing and analyzing production, distribution, co-finance, and talent agreements, reviewing and analyzing existing rights summaries and databases, and consulting with stakeholders across the studio.
- Maintain master rights spreadsheet with details of clip rights and special consents that may be required.
- Summarize and document merchandising and other ancillary rights in the studio's enterprise rights management system.
- Log each of the 2,000+ annual clip requests into the clip licensing system. Log-in process includes assigning a reference number for each project and opening a digital file, creating clip rights document for each request, saving all corresponding documents for request (including synopsis of project and script pages or book layout and text) and logging new request information into annual excel spreadsheet as well as individual title sheets for cross-reference.
- Maintain clip licensing department email inbox, which includes saving all incoming emails and recording talent consents and internal approvals.
Qualifications & Experience
- 3 years of experience in Entertainment Industry
- Previous legal research experience required.
- Prior experience summarizing legal agreements in a clear and concise manner preferred.
- Detailed understanding of distribution rights, ancillary rights, sales restrictions, holdbacks, talent approvals, and guild agreements
- High School Diploma
- AA degree required
- BA/BS degree preferred
- Paralegal and/or contract administration experience a plus
- Excellent written, verbal and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- PC Skills: Word, Excel, Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated ability to interpret legal agreements and comprehend legal terminology.
- Experience with intellectual property rights in the entertainment industry
- Knowledge of file set-up, maintenance and filing procedures
- Knowledge of basic math, excellent spelling, grammar and punctuation
- Must be able to communicate effectively and tactfully with persons on all levels, in person and on the telephone
- Ability to work effectively with employees at all levels.
- Customer service oriented.
- Must be able to organize and schedule work effectively
- Must be able to take initiative
- Must be able to pay attention to details

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $47,466.00 - $88,150.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
