We are looking for a stellar Accounting Manager to handle all day-to-day accounting activities including initiating vendor payments, posting journal entries, month-end close activities, sales tax returns and monthly financial reporting
 
Position Overview
The Accounting Manager will be responsible for the daily operations of the accounting function and be an integral part of our small finance team that also includes an FP&A Manager – both positions report to our Head of Finance. As the company grows we expect at some point in the future to add a staff accountant as a direct report of the Accounting Manager.
Responsibilities
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports and statements
  • Enhance and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, systems and procedures
  • Initiate payments to vendors and partners
  • Coordinate payroll with HR leader
  • Determine proper revenue recognition for services and commerce
  • Perform month end close journal entries for all general ledger accounts
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts
  • Monitor and reconcile cash accounts 
What we're looking for
  • BS Degree in Accounting
  • 5 plus years of experience working in accounting with increasing levels of responsibility and ideally in the role of an accounting manager
  • 2 plus years Public Accounting experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with QuickBooks or related accounting software
  • Familiarity with Bill.com, Expensify, Stripe or related a definite plus
  • Ability to manipulate large amounts of data in Excel
  • Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices and regulations
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to direct and supervise a staff, when applicable
