Meet 2 local brick-and-mortars using tech to power their businesses
Many people gripe about how technology is becoming too intrusive in our day-to-day lives, but there exists an inspiring balance when tech enhances a physical experience without overwhelming it. We worked with Nanxi Liu, CEO of Enplug, to find local LA businesses that are utilizing tech in their workshops:

Fleurish

The only thing more thoughtful than a bouquet is a hand-crafted bouquet. Fleurish invites customers to build a custom arrangement or craft a seasonal bouquet designed by a celebrity florist & co-founder Amy Marella. The studio is lined with video boards showing off customers' creations in hopes of inspiring new arrangements.

Location: 11906 San Vicente Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90049

What inspired you to start Fleurish?

Fleurish is a whole new exciting concept in the floral industry. It is the first dedicated design it yourself flower company, "Where you are the Fleurist." It is a niche in the marketplace giving flowers and the "art of arranging" to crafty consumers. A popular lifestyle behavior cultivated by heavy social influencer communities like Pinterest and Etsy.

What made you choose to use Enplug?

Enplug enhances Fleurish's in-store customer experience with its interactive live feed share feature. Fleurish launched its flagship west side store originally with just a digital photo camera and 2 tv screens. The tv screens previously displayed only promotional slides and images. There was no instant conversion to Fleurish's social platforms and other than printing the photo's from the photo booth, there was no interaction between the two kiosks.
Now with Enplug, Fleurish is able to combine both marketing/promotion and social platforms for a highlight reel showcasing the Fleurish experience as it unfolds — the best time before the flowers leave the store. So much so, that we even created a photo back drop with social hashtags as a inhouse advertising opportunity. Priceless validation in this day and age of bloggers and influencers!

What inspired you to start Rolling Robots?

We love robots. We dig kids. And we're inspired by the magic that happens when the two combine. Sparks fly… literally! Robots ignite the imagination of kids everywhere. They open the door to the world of technology through the universal language of FUN.

When we began Rolling Robots, it wasn't because we're nerdy aerospace engineers (ok, maybe it was a little bit) but because we're parents that love watching our kids discover their inner-scientist and get super excited about creating something of their own. There's no mistaking the pride in a kid's face when they hold up a robot they created and exclaim, "Look what I made!"

We believe that today's greatest minds were once the kids that always asked, "How does that work?" We want to be the ones to reply, "Here's how!" and "Let's find out!" Our mission is to tap into the spirit of wonder in kids, unlocking their future potential with the fun of the robot world.

Simply put, we want to inspire generations of dreamers and doers - the next Edison, the next Jobs, or even the next Franklin. Our dream is that one day these kids will look back and think, "My dream was sparked by a robot."

In more technical term, I am passionated about the education of young children. I am inspired to build new learning grounds for next generation to have fun and grow with robots.

What made you choose to use Enplug?

I first heard of Enplug through a talk given by you at one of the local entrepreneurship meeting.  I really like the idea that we can see the social media posts instantly on the screen.  Rolling Robots has the mission to teach robotics and technology to 4 to 14 years old through fun, hands-on building activities such as birthday party, play date, after-school and weekend workshop, and winter/summer camps.   We choose to use Enplug because the presence of Enplug screen in the room enhances the customer engagement at Rolling Robots.
