Looking to move into LA’s startup scene?

Teleport, a living-location scouting site, introduced Los Angeles Teleport this week. The new tool allows tech employees to find the most optimal living locations in LA based on cost and commute.

Los Angeles Teleport asks users what company they plan on working for, what neighborhood they want to live in, and their preferred commute. The map then breaks down which areas suit the user’s interests, including healthcare or education options for your family.

By calculating rent prices and commute times, Teleport shows users the amount of money and time they save each year by living in a certain neighborhood.

The site launched in 2014 and has released similar tools for the New York and San Francisco tech ecosystems. LA was a natural next step.

“While our own team is scattered around the US and Europe, we made sure to involve 4-5 people on the ground in LA to help us develop the cost and quality of life data,” CEO and cofounder Sten Tamkivi said. “We’re hearing the results are pretty good out of the gate, but are looking for more feedback to evolve the features further.”
