This recruitment is to fill a vacancy in LA’s Best, and the position will be working out of the organization's operations office. LA's Best is an after-school enrichment group whose mission is to provide a safe and supervised after school education, enrichment and recreation program for school children ages 5 to 12 in the City of Los Angeles. Who We Are Looking For

We're looking for a Programmer Analyst, Visual Basic to perform responsible systems analysis and programming on complex projects, assist higher-level programmer analysts on the most complex projects, and possibly provide work direction and technical assistance to assigned programming personnel.

 

Some of What You Will Do

  • Assist with formulating and defining computer systems requirements and recommends techniques for processing data.
  • Design, develop and maintain web sites.
  • Perform systems analysis and design on projects of average size and complexity.
  • Prepare block diagrams, detailed flowcharts, and related documentation describing operations to be performed by computers.
  • Test coding, auditing results, and correcting errors in program logic.
  • Design data input/output forms including reports.
  • Write and maintain batch and on-line computer programs for n-tier architecture systems.

Your Qualifications

Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems, computer science, or a closely related field, and two years of experience in a client server environment with extensive experience in software development, programming, and systems analysis and design for business applications utilizing Visual Basic 6.0, VB.Net, VBscript, C#, or ASP.Net.

OR

Completion of a 30-semester unit certificate program or equivalent in computer information systems, computer science, or a closely related field, and five years of experience in a client server environment with extensive experience in software development, programming, and systems analysis and design for business applications utilizing Visual Basic 6.0, VB.Net, VBscript, C#, or ASP.Net.

OR

Two years of experience as a LAUSD Assistant Programmer Analyst programming in a Microsoft .NET-based environment utilizing Oracle and/or SQL Server databases.

Experience with project/personnel management in a team environment and distributed systems is desirable. Experience with Crystal Reports is also highly desirable.

 

Other Required Qualifications

A valid California Driver License.

Use of an automobile.

Employees in this class are subjected to call at any hour.
