Title: Vice President of Product

Reporting To: CEO

Talespin is building the platform to transform talent development and skill alignment for the future of work. Our spatial computing products deliver a new standard for learning and workforce data, empowering organizations and individuals to make better talent and career decisions. We’re looking for an experienced VP of Product to join our team in Los Angeles and drive our mission to transform the way humans learn, work and collaborate. 

The VP of Product will manage the development, implementation and evolution of Talespins’s product portfolio, drive innovation and advance the organization’s position as a leader in XR.  This newly created role will design, implement and lead a product team and framework that will optimize our current product portfolio, and rapidly develop and launch impactful new products and services.

Reporting to the CEO, the VP of Product is a key member of Talespin’s leadership team and is responsible for planning and executing an integrated multi-year product strategy and roadmap with well defined impact and associated metrics for Talespin’s portfolio of consumer-facing software experiences.  The product portfolio is focused on delivering OTS and/or Bespoke across Talespins CoPilot, Propel, Compass, Runway products; managing a small team and working directly with heads of design, product engineering and program management to create strategy and implementation plans. Additionally, the VP of Product will work closely with community, communications and platform technology departments to establish schedules around the implementation, delivery and marketing of these products.


In this role, you  will be directly responsible for: 

The overall success of our product portfolio -- defining, communicating, and executing its strategy to achieve our growth, margin and customer retention goals. As part of this broad purpose, you will:

  • Design, build and lead a product management organization and framework that will optimize our current product portfolio, grow adjacencies and rapidly develop and launch impactful new products and services.
  • Through collaboration across the organization, lead the product management life cycle from concept to launch of the product(s), monitoring ongoing performance and retiring products when necessary.
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the organization to drive competitive advantage and enable significant growth
  •  Incorporate best-in-class customer experience into our products
  • Manage a team to develop a long-term view; ensure there are adequate resources and tools, maintain and improve the team’s knowledge and expertise.
  • Managing up to 4 direct reports with a total team size of 10


Skills and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, information technology, or equivalent professional experience required; Master of Business Administration degree preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in product management in enterprise software or high growth SaaS companies
  • 5+ years in a senior product leadership role with experience operating in diverse product strategies
  • Experience building, inspiring, and leading teams of high-quality product managers
  • Full product lifecycle experience, including market problem scoping, win/loss analysis, competitive analysis, portfolio budgeting, pricing, buy/build/partner analysis, product positioning, go-to-market strategy
  • Sophisticated communication (written and verbal), negotiation, problem-solving, collaboration, and cross-functional coordination skills to effectively work with other functional leaders, customers, and stakeholders to evolve product portfolio
  • Experience with key evaluation metrics that drive prioritization and continued investment decisions within the product life cycle
  • Passionate about coaching and developing team members to achieve their career goals
