Senior Business Analyst

Rightsline is currently looking for a Senior Business Analyst.  This position reports directly to the Director of Professional Services to ensure that we make the best product possible.  The Senior Business Analyst role is to plan, design, assist in the development and launch efficient business, system enhancements and changes in support of core rights management functions and business processes. This includes gathering and analyzing data in support of business cases, proposed projects and systems requirements. The Senior Business Analyst is also responsible for generating and compiling reports based on their findings, complete with probable causes and possible solutions to systems issues. The Senior Business Analyst will be the interface between the company and customer for technical projects and system activities and enhancements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the relationship directly with media and entertainment customers from the beginning of the project, through the design and implementation phase, ensuring that all deadlines and technical aspects of each project are met.
  • Conduct reviews of and analyze business and information technology processes.
  • Evaluate business requirements for applications and systems integration and service activation, while delivering new or modified software systems enhancements and/or integration solutions.
  • Participate in the definition, testing, training, implementation and support of system requirements.
  • Identify customer requirements, develop test plans, conditions/cases, and schedules, track and document the development and results of these plans.
  • Alert manager to potential risks and issues of importance.
  • Solicit client requirements through interviews and/or existing systems documentation or procedures.
  • Ensure requirements are understood, agreed to and signed off at the appropriate stages in a project.
  • Provide detailed analysis of processes and workflows with suggestions for improvement.
  • Identify areas where technology can lead to increased efficiency and productivity.
  • Build relationships with business users, gain deep understanding of their processes and how they are currently utilizing technology, develop improvements.
  • Engaging with 3rd party technology vendors to ensure smooth integration.
  • Arrange training where required for customers.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree and at least 3 years of business analysis or technical project management experience at a media, Internet, software, or digital media company.
  • Demonstrated track record of defining systems that lead to increased efficiency and productivity through the use of technology.
  • Strong relationship building capabilities.
  • Experience in an Agile environment including familiarity with User Stories and iterative development.
  • Excellent analytical, data modeling, organizational and presentation skills.
  • Solid understanding of SAAS technology.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and be accountable.
  • Must have a strong sense of ownership, urgency and initiative.
  • Documented experience with methodology and process related to Business Analysis.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a time-sensitive, deadline driven environment and prioritize accordingly.
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate, both written and verbally, with internal and external audiences.
  • Analytical skills in the use of Microsoft Access/Excel.
  • Ability to review functional requirements, analysis and design documents and provide feedback.
  • Must be results oriented and customer focused.

  • Demonstrated ability to make sound judgement and resolve problems without supervision.
