Riot Games was founded in 2006 by Brandon Beck and Marc Merrill with the intent to change the way video games are made and supported for players. In 2009, Riot released its debut title League of Legends to worldwide acclaim. The game has since gone on to become the most played PC game in the world and a key driver of the explosive growth of Esports. Players are the foundation of our community, and it’s for them we continue to evolve and improve the League experience.

Product Managers at Riot Games help lead the vision of each individual product across the finish line, and assist in building and delivering experiences beyond our audience's expectations. We’re involved in almost every product you can think of, be it an epic new skin, the Mechs vs. Minions board game, or the internal tools needed by engineers or artists to speed up their craft. Whatever the calling, we identify and deliver the solution that our audience needs.

Product Managers guide the product lifecycle from start to finish. They understand the intricate nuances of what the audience needs from the products we develop. Each product is unusual, with a different set of challenges from the last, so Product Managers ought to be flexible and able to adjust to changing situational demands. We have no set path to shipping a product. There’s no fixed process to follow, and no one to decide what to do in order to launch.

As a Senior Product Manager within League of Legends, you will focus on reshaping the League companion app, which is currently published as the “League Friends” app (Android) and “League of Legends Friends” app ( iOS). You will be responsible for the experience from end to end. You will have the opportunity to fully reshape or augment the current product into one that produces higher levels of engagement from the League community. You will team up with a focused group of talented developers, artists and other Rioters to bring this new experience to market.

Responsibilities:

  • Craft & hold the vision for the League companion app experience. Decide what matters and what is fluff.

  • Generate partner alignment across several Riot regions (global publishing zones) for a globally published mobile application.

  • Provide product and execution leadership as part of a development team.

  • Work with a globally dispersed development team to improve engagement of League companion app.

  • Specify market requirements for existing and future products by conducting market research supported by ongoing direct communication with players or internal customers.

  • Drive a solution set across development teams through market requirements, product specifications, and positioning.

  • Develop and implement a company-wide go-to-market plan, working with all departments to execute.

  • Work with customers and partners to drive alignment and communicate product updates.

  • Lead the global vision and backlog.

  • Analyze potential partner relationships.

Skills:

  • 5+ years experience as a product manager and you've led multiple teams responsible for long-term projects, from concept to live.

  • Mobile application development experience with scaled iOS and Android applications.

  • Experience leading a live-operated mobile application at scale.

  • Experience generating and tracking critical metrics for mobile products.

  • Experience with iterative development methodologies like Scrum, Agile, etc.

  • BS in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or in the past worked in software development. So you understand technology and can talk to highly technical development teams.
