As a Product Manager, you will be the loudest advocate for your users. You will use your business and technical acumen as well as your in depth understanding of your users’ community to: own the product’s vision and strategy, define new features, enhance our platform, and identify and assess new opportunities. You will drive a cross-functional team to ensure our products are innovative, launched successfully, and ever-evolving to exceed users needs. You will also work closely with your fellow Product Managers, ensuring anything we build upholds a unified product platform experience.

What will I be doing?

  • Every decision you’ll make, will be on behalf of your users.
  • You’ll define and carry out the product vision, strategy, roadmap, and backlog for them and will champion it through the entire organization while also managing tactical initiatives
  • You’ll deeply understand the problems that your users are experiencing through research and interaction with customers, and then communicate those problems clearly back to your team
  • You’ll receive input and feedback from a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, understand the impact of this work, and then prioritize and deliver it to your team to make sure they are working on the most impactful projects
  • You’ll constantly measure and share the success of your product and its ability to solve problems through both quantitative and qualitative measuresYou’ll constantly educate, advocate, and evangelize your product initiatives so there is internal awareness and alignment

What skills do I need?

  • You have 2+ years of experience of product ownership/management experience
  • You have experience developing products using APIs and managing product integrations with 3rd parties
  • You have exceptional verbal and written communication skills and are comfortable speaking with both internal and external stakeholders
  • You have developed key performance indicators to measure success/impact of your work and can speak to decisions you’ve made to improve those metrics
  • You substantiate any product decisions by proving, or disproving, their validity with experimentation and measurable results using qualitative and quantitative data
  • You can clearly communicate the vision of your product, the roadmap, and the rationale behind them. You’re comfortable making decisions without consensus. You know when and how to equip other business units to further support your product and value product alignment
  • You have an understanding of the technical architecture of complex & modern web applications. You’re able to tailor the level of technical communication based on the audience the room

What else will help me succeed?

  • You incorporate user impact metrics as part of your success metrics (you do not build just to drive revenue and do not build anything without customer validation)
  • You’ve also built products that have failed (and know why they did)
  • You have a strong technical understanding
  • You value and favor user needs and concerns over your own to inform product direction
  • You regularly use data to objectively evaluate ideas and assumptions
  • You understand and value the importance of quantitative and qualitative data
  • You know when and how it’s appropriate to say “no”
  • You possess a passion for education or EdTech
  • You are a natural advocate and evangelist, willing and eager to talk about the value of your products to anyone at any time
