About the Role 

The Production Manager role is key to ensure product optimization: Best quality for best cost and best delivery. This role will suit an experienced sourcing professional within the apparel industry, who has an extensive knowledge of product development, sourcing, negotiation  and garment production processes, having most effective ways to communicate with local  and overseas suppliers under ethical standards. 

Responsibilities 

• Negotiate effectively product terms with local and overseas suppliers (cost, quality and delivery lead-times), securing cost efficiencies through effective bottom-up approach (open cost sheets) and accurate costing benchmarking. 
• Follow up pre-production and production stages in a continuous communication with vendors. 
• Follow up closely product deliveries matching agreed terms. 
• Interface with product design and buying teams. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional team members and vendors to ensure best product is  executed. 
• Manage multiple categories to oversee the product development from concept through  PP stage.  
• Accurate production planning matching budgets with factories capacities. ● Support the strategic objectives of the business by maintaining and developing an effective supplier portfolio. 
• Research supplier innovations and support the design team in the development of new product categories. 
• Lead and monitor WIPs for all product stages for multiple categories against a face paced calendar. 

Required Skills 

• Minimum of 5 years experience as a sourcing or production manager exclusively in the fashion industry. 
• Strong knowledge of fabric, trims, quality, and developments. 
• Advanced knowledge about critical path, costing, manufacturing and calendar management. 
• A strong negotiator with the ability to find pragmatic solutions in a win, win context.
• A very well organized professional with excellent planning skills with high prioritization ability working on multiple projects at the same time. 
• Able to work under pressure maintaining attention to detail and accurate work in a fast paced and changing environment. 
• A strong written and verbal ability to establish trustworthy and durable relationships with suppliers and colleagues. 
• Willingness to travel to visit domestic and overseas suppliers as required. ● Very good computer skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
