Lead Product Manager
We are seeking a Lead Product Manager to join our growing product team. You will lead a team of Product Managers who work cross-functionally with designers and engineers and go to market stakeholders to direct product development from start to finish. You will be able to juggle highly technical product work and concurrently be able move a team forward. This role reports into our Chief Product Officer.
Who you are:
- You measure your success as a PM through shipped software; you can point to specific examples where you have shipped a meaningful feature, particularly under challenging circumstances (e.g. tight deadlines, competing priorities, etc).
- You have experience working on a highly technical product and/or you have a strong technical background
- You have experience assuming the core Product Manager responsibilities in an Agile environment, e.g. grooming & prioritizing a product backlog, writing product requirements, preparing work for sprint planning, attending the team standup, working with your engineering counterparts to support the team throughout the sprint, etc.
- You are deeply analytical and are comfortable sorting through data & using it to make data driven decisions.
- You understand how to balance speed vs. robustness in what you build - i.e. you want to build everything the right way, but accept that trade-offs must sometimes be made to push the business forward.
- You are enthusiastic about the high impact, fast-paced, but often roller coaster environment of an early stage startup.
- You are comfortable in a B2B organization where sometimes our best laid roadmap plans can get blown up by the need to support a million dollar deal.
What you’ll be doing:
- Manages product management team and assures clear product definitions and roadmap through customer feedback, deployment successes/challenges, competitive positioning and thought leadership.
- Develops and tracks project plans and progress from inception to delivery to ensure requirements are delivered as scheduled.
- Works with the project team to determine resource requirements (people, equipment, materials) and estimate cost of such resources.
- Provide direction and prioritization to manage the product backlog in a lean / agile environment.
- Partners closely with the engineering team to help find optimal technical implementation methods as well as reasonable implementation schedules for product releases.
- Analyze and communicate project data and Agile metrics. Collaborates with others, uses data and knowledge gained to make recommendations for process improvements.
- Prioritizing features, building consensus, and coordinating product schedules with our team of engineers and product designers.
- Mentors Product Team Members and provides guidance in Agile processes and Team interactions.
A successful Lead Product Manager will:
- Have least 6 years of experience in product management working on enterprise B2B SaaS.
- Be an excellent communicator and storyteller (written & verbal), both with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Have people management experience, including hiring and mentoring high-performance teams and reviewing the work of the team.
- Demonstrated success in working with engineering teams to plan, develop, refine, and launch successful enterprise software products.
- Be comfortable representing the product internally and externally with customers.
- Be comfortable rolling up your sleeves and doing whatever it takes to push the product forward.
- Ideally have Insurance/Fintech domain knowledge industry experience
