The Boeing Defense Space & Security is seeking a Lead Program Management Specialist supporting Boeing Common Products Group in El Segundo, in direct support of Government and Commercial Spacecraft Products. The Common Products portfolio consists of Satellite Payload and Platform Units (Antenna, Reflector, Feeds, Solar Array, Structures, Battery, Mechanisms, Passive Microwave Devices, Propulsion, Pumped Fluid Loop Systems, Blankets, Harness and Payload Layout). The IPT Lead will drive daily program execution, coordinate and communicate with all required functions from early program bidding thru final flight delivery.
Position Responsibilities:
- Develops overall project plan consistent with project objectives as defined by the project owner and key stakeholders in accordance with accepted project management standards in the industry (e.g., PMI, Project Management Body of Knowledge [PMBOK], ANSI, and ISO standards).
- Works to improve project management processes and business systems that support project decision makers.
- May lead others and direct all phases of projects or subsystems of major projects from inception through completion.
- Acts as primary project contact to establish key stakeholder requirements and project objectives.
- Ensures that all project control systems within the scope of the project are in place and integrates project data for decision makers.
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- 3 or more years of project management experience
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 3-5 years of experience working with Space Flight Hardware
- Project management experience
- Experience working with Supply Chain Management
- Experience with budget, development of quarterly EAC, program health metrics, earned value, and management of program critical path
- Experience working with satellite or space-based payloads/products is desired
Typical Education/Experience
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years' related work experience, 10 years' related work experience, etc.).
