Job Description
The Enterprise Product Consumer Data team is responsible for collection, standardization, and democratization of data across NBCUniversal to enable activation, monetization, and engagement in secure, privacy-centric ways.
As a Product Owner on the Enterprise Product team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the foundation of our data infrastructure and products. Your primary responsibility will be to gain a deep understanding of the raw data flowing into our environment, enabling you to make strategic recommendations on data architecture and product development. By leveraging your expertise in data product development and analysis, you will not only contribute to the enhancement of our current products but also identify new opportunities to drive impactful business outcomes. As a subject matter expert within the organization, you will also be responsible for fostering collaboration and innovation to deliver cutting-edge data products.
Duties and Responsibilities
As a strategic member on our Enterprise Product Consumer Data team, you will have the following key responsibilities:

  • Data Analysis & Insights: Conduct in-depth data analysis to derive actionable insights, identify trends, and uncover opportunities for product enhancement and innovation.
  • Data Architecture Design: Develop, audit and maintain an efficient, scalable, and secure data architecture that optimally handles data ingestion, storage, processing, and retrieval
  • Data Strategy Development: Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define data strategies that align with business objectives and product roadmaps. Identify data-related opportunities and challenges and propose effective solutions.
  • Data Product Development: Lead the engineering team in building robust data products and solutions that empower the organization to extract meaningful insights and make data-driven decisions.
  • Performance Optimization: Continuously assess and optimize data architecture and processes to enhance system performance, reduce latency, and optimize cost.
  • Collaboration & Leadership: Foster a collaborative work environment, providing mentorship and guidance to the data product team, encouraging innovation and product quality.
  • Technology Evaluation: Keep abreast of the latest data-related technologies, tools, and frameworks, evaluating their potential integration into the company's data ecosystem.


Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

  • Proven experience (3+ years) working as a Product Owner or in a similar data-focused role.
  • Demonstrated analytical ability to utilize data to drive decision-making and inform product strategies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically while handling multiple projects concurrently.
  • Solid understanding of data management principles, including data modeling, data warehousing, ETL processes, and data governance.
  • Proficiency in data querying languages (SQL) and experience with programming languages like Python, Java, or Scala
  • Strong expertise in data visualization tools and techniques to present complex data insights to various stakeholders.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
  • A passion for media and entertainment is a plus.


Desired Characteristics

  • Experience in the consumer-facing industry, understanding consumer behavior, and leveraging data for product improvement and marketing strategies.
  • Experience with data activation and monetization strategies, leveraging data assets to drive revenue and business growth.
  • Familiarity with data tools and technologies, such as data warehouses, data lakes, ETL processes, and data visualization tools.
  • Knowledge of machine learning concepts and their application in data products.
  • Understanding of data privacy regulations (e.g., VPPA, CCPA) and experience implementing security measures for data protection.


Additional Requirements:
This position has been designated as commutable remote, meaning that the position is expected to contribute from the designated office location on an as needed/as directed basis. When not contributing onsite, the position is expected to contribute from a non-NBCUniversal worksite, most commonly the employee's residence.
This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks. Salary range: $100,000 - $130,000 (bonus eligible)
