Ring is looking for a Systems Solutions Architect to build AWS architecture and provide design specifications that will be used to extend infrastructure capabilities. This individual will also be a member of a first-class AWS support team under the Ring organization that will be able to quickly resolve AWS infrastructure issues and look for creative technology solutions that will make our systems more resilient to these challenges.

Responsibilities

• Provide “last-tier” AWS support for infrastructure design and architecture issues
• Administer, monitor, and deploy large scale systems and service solutions on AWS
• Collaborate with other technical leads to integrate end-to-end design that's well documented
• Recommend alternative design and platform options
• Monitor communications channels, monitoring tools, and related systems to ensure awareness of system stability, health, and performance
• Perform outreach and provide support for internal Ring teams and Amazon business units
• Drive initiatives for upgrading and scaling our systems to improve capacity, feature set, availability, reliability, and performance
• Perform cost review of existing resources; assess opportunities for reducing costs or infrastructure footprint
• Work with global teams of engineers, growing their knowledge and skillset

Basic Qualifications

• 6+ years of AWS infrastructure architecture and design experience
• 6+ years of experience managing servers, networks, and infrastructure in a cloud environment
• 3+ years implementation/consulting/evangelism experience
• 3+ years overall development/technical support experience
• 3+ years of experience in UNIX/Linux operating system

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in enterprise IT solutions in multiple of the following areas: Infrastructure architecture, database architecture, networking, zero downtime migrations, security, operations, design, and development
• Experience architecting highly available, resilient, fault tolerant systems
• Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, innovative, and rapidly evolving industry and business organization
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze problems and develop actionable and dedicated plans quickly
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences at the executive level
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills
