The Role

The mission of this Senior UX Designer role is to lead Dr. Squatch’s efforts in enhancing our website Ecommerce experience. This is a multi-faceted design role responsible for leading the UX/UI design vision, creating responsive prototypes (from wireframes to high-fidelity), and basic level front-end development. Expected to contribute to all aspects of design and execution when creating purposeful and modern interactive features that are tailored to the brand. Can handle a high degree of complex and creative design work with a quick turnaround time. Collaborates very closely with the Head of Product Management and is a part of the agile web development team.

Responsibilities

• Designing low fidelity wireframes, working prototypes and high fidelity web designs ready for development.

• Apply front-end coding skills to responsive web design; comfortable developing an email template or landing page. 

• Design responsive webpages, landing pages, and various e-commerce features.

• Identify & test key areas for UX/UI improvement on website, especially around mobile usability.

• Stay on top of latest design and usability trends, especially around mobile devices.

• Work with the marketing team to improve website conversion efficiency through design.

• Create email designs for weekly newsletters and flows.

• Assist with design on social media and advertising content as needed.

About You

• 3+ years of web design experience, experience in e-commerce and/or startup preferred.

• Creative and passionate about delivering the best possible UX.

• Expert in relevant technologies (Adobe Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, Sketch).

• Basic proficiency in front-end development web programming languages including HTML and CSS, JQuery, and JavaScript.

• Understanding of User Experience design is strongly preferred.

• Experience with mobile design and responsive web applications.

• Illustration/vector design capability is a plus.

• Understanding or ability to learn conversion principles and applying to design.

• Establishing design guidelines, standards, and best practices for the brand.

• Creative and open to new ideas, adaptable and willing to learn new techniques.

• Excellent communication skills in a fast paced, cross functional environment.
