Chef’d Machine Automation Room Lead will be responsible for troubleshooting, light-servicing and ensuring that the use of robotic systems are set to correct temperaments during the duration of each production shift. Knowledge of robotic assembly devices and computer-controlled systems will be a required learned mastered skill for this role. These portioning mechanical systems are often found within the Chef’d manufacturing plant. General GMP practices, safety, and recommendations on maintenance and upkeep for the food processing machinery will be the sole responsibility of the Automation Technician . This is a production support role and will be responsible for understanding all facets of the production systems both robotically and operationally in a food manufacturing facility. Responsibility of constant use of production machinery, meeting daily KPI’s and helping the production team manage correct operational use of the machines will be his/her main task.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine diagnostic checks on automated systems and machinery
  • Ensures each machine is set-up correctly before, during and after production 
  • Batch verification of portioned goods before performance of systematic and physical put-away with their Supervisor/Manager
  • Monitor and maintain automated systems, isolate problems during the duration of their shift 
  • Maintains factory records 
  • Ensures all automated equipment is cleaned properly, handled properly and managed appropriately working with QA/Sanitation and Production Departments 
  • Troubleshoot issues and determine if the problems are mechanical, electrical or from the computer system’s controlling the process during production 
  • Escalate repair(s) and request replacements of any necessary components, such as a sensor, parts or electrical wiring
  • Assist with new equipment installation & mastering use of equipment 
  • Perform all duties with necessary precaution within accepted safety practices and GMP’s
  • Be the direct point of contact with equipment and manufacturing vendors for the facility under the direction of their manager 
  • Ensures safe handling of all raw and finished goods materials
  • Meets daily, weekly, monthly KPI’s

Requirements

  • Basic Computer knowledge of WMS systems, Microsoft, Google Drive, Word and Excel Applications
  • Must have food handlers card 
  • Must understand the demands of working in a constant cold environment 
  • Must be able to lift, pull, push, a minimum of 30 lbs or more, stand, pivot, bend for long periods of time Previous food facility experience
