This position operates under the general direction of the Lead Information Security Officer. The role is responsible for the development and strategic alignment of Boeing’s information security architecture to Boeing’s digital enterprise strategy. The Lead Information Security Architect (LISA) position will be accountable for providing direction in defining and institutionalizing the information security target state for security technology and security information architecture across all Information Security products and services.  This LISA works closely with business stakeholders, Information Technology / Information Security (IT/IS) delivery teams, vendor partners, and government organizations to ensure the delivery of cybersecurity solutions that protect Boeing information assets while complying with all regulatory requirements.  Furthermore, the LISA will lead the implementation of Boeing’s information security architecture strategy by monitoring IT/IS projects and IT operations to ensure compliance with security architecture principles and underlying security controls.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Translate business, technology, and security objectives into enterprise-level security architectures and roadmaps that are flexible, streamlined, scalable, and cost-efficient.
  • Ensure the development and implementation of security architectures that support compliance to National Institute of Standars and Technology (NIST) Cybersecurity and Risk Management Frameworks and encourage conformance with “Best Practices” as communicated by industry standards bodies such as NIST, Federal Information Process Standards (FIPS), International Information System Certification Consortium (ISC2), and open Web Application Security Project (OWASP).
  • Direct Information Security architects to identify and deliver security architectural standards, design patterns, reference architectures, subdomain strategies, and roadmaps, to define the security principles and constructs for the enterprise.
  • Collaborate and foster strong working relationships with all necessary stakeholders to ensure the selection, design, and implementation of IT tools and services that align with security roadmaps and their associated technical controls with the appropriate monitoring capabilities.
  • Act as a thought leader on cybersecurity throughout the enterprise by keeping abreast of all relevant and emerging cyber topics with an eye to communicate and foster an active cybersecurity culture.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Cyber Security, or a directly related field
  • 5+ years in Enterprise Security Solution Architecture leadership roles

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):  

  • 15+ years of progressively responsible IT experience
  • Experience in building teams and capabilities for a global company with expertise directing one or more architects
  • Experience with cybersecurity frameworks as described by NIST, CIS, and ISO, as well as security and privacy controls, as documented in NIST SP 800-53 REV. 4
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services platform security in which you guided secure system and service configuration
  • Experience leading enterprise conformance with “Best Practices” as communicated by industry standards bodies such as NIST, FIPS, ISC2, and OWASP
  • Previous experience with industry-leading technologies for IAM, single sign-on, and multifactor authentication strategies
  • Demonstrated expertise in protecting critical infrastructure, including network infrastructure, databases, systems, and applications utilizing reliable data-protection mechanisms and cryptographic algorithms
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity technological trends and demonstrated experience in cybersecurity technologies and products deploying those technologies
  • Strong communication skills tailored for and appropriate to multiple audiences

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 20 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+15 years' related work experience, Master+18 years' related work experience, 24 years' related work experience, etc.).
